What about all the probs with the frame being too weak and cracking, did they fix it?

That and every other 1000 now does 100+ in first gear so that isn't a good reason to buy one. I have heard the shifting on the Kaw is extremely rough. I personnaly am leaning towards a Gixxer for my next bike but that is atleast 1 year away.

hmm, where did you hear that? Not questioning your info, just that I haven't heard that. In a shootout that I read, they said the RR wouldn't, and I 'think' they said the R1 wouldn't either. they didn't have the new gixxer. now I may be totally wrong, and I don't want to take a beating on this one, just want to get my info correct. thanks jeff.

and i don't to hear people popping in here and telling me how theirs goes 150 in first...down a 30 degree slope with a 70 mph wind at their backs. I'm talking actual speed too, NOT that over optimistic speedometer that they put on all these bikes that reads 10 - 15 percent higher than it actually should. I love looking over at some of your guys's bikes while were doing 65, and reading 73 on your speedometers.

My bike does not lie to me... I won't believe it! When I first got my R6 I had one of those radar things on the way home that asks you to slow down and couldn't figure out why the spedo was reading 50 but the radar thing kept saying about 42-45. I've never topped my buddies R1 out in first, but I'd imagine it does close to 100mph if you pin the tach...

I read in Sportbike that the R1 will do 100 in first. I think Jeff is right most liter bikes are geared to do 100 in first or close to it.

Re: New Bike?

I heard the new FJR1300 will run 14 sec. 1/4's, 1 sec. better than last years model. Seriously though, all the liter bikes are bad *** and great quality. Just a matter of looks really and I pick the R1 "Raven".

Re: New Bike?

Did you get rid of the 954? PS I am not a Honda fan by any means but you did get the best Honda bike ever built as far as looks.
