Helmet Law....
Re: Helmet Law....
I heard something on the radio thias morning, not sure if it's going in for a vote or what.....they said if you've been a licenced rider for more than two years or taken a saftey corse you could ride w/o a helmet.....I'de like to know more also. Is this true? or is it just a proposal?
Re: Helmet Law....
If she doesn't sign this I'm gonna go to her house and do doughnuts in her yard with my fiddy.
"Gov. Jennifer Granholm opposes the appeal of the law for health and safety reasons, said Granholm's spokeswoman, Liz Boyd. For it to become law, Granholm must sign it."

To each their own.
My view is whether it is law or not I'm wearing my helmet. I have too many things in life to lose from an internal brain injury that could have been possibly prevented. I am not a big fan of this because in the long run or even short run it is going to cost us motorcycle riders more money. (Insurance mainly) Hell but at least they are making the people that choose to not wear a helmet ride for 2 years. LMAO. I think this is just about the time a rider feels they're safe on the roads. Flip where you wearing a helmet this winter when you crashed? And if you weren't wearing a helmet do you think things would have had the same result?
Just my take on a no helmet law so don't hate me for not endorsing it.

Don't get me started on you. Blah, blah, blah.....wear your helmet this, wear your helmet that. "If you don't wear a helmet your stupid." Blah, blah, blah...damn flip, you're such a hypocrite. You not only went against what you say down in florida, you went further by pulling wheelies while doing it. How about practicing what you preach. You make me laugh. You did it down there and now you say you'll never do it again...whatever. Just like the time you said you'd never eat fast food again, ha. Don't lie to yourself, if you had the chance to ride without a helmet again you'd do it for sure. Anywho, you knew that would get me going didn't you, you fawker.
My take on it - we shouldn't be mandated to wear helmets, I thought this was America....the home of the free. We should be allowed to choose to wear or not wear helmets. To each their own, if you don't wear one thats your risk, not mine. I'm sure if they pass the law I'll do it, within reason however (cruisin through the strip, not haulin *** down the hiway). Just my
. I hope they do away with it. Re: Helmet Law....

WOW Flip and I agree on something. I think Flip agrees because he has been forced to wear his Helmet his whole life. At least they made him on the way to school in the short bus...

"The number of motorcycles registered in the state over a six-year period, have increased by 45 percent. The largest increase in licensed motorcyclists was among those aged 45-64."

. I hope they do away with it.If this was truely the land of the free we wouldn't have seat belt laws. While in a car they are forcing more laws on us for "OUR" safety they take the only real one and make it rider choice on a motorcycle. Now that is being a hypocrite. I don't care if people ride without helmet it is their choice I choose to wear mine. I have 4 good reason waiting at home for me everytime I am out on my motorcycle.
I wonder how this law effects a passsenger? And would you allow you passenger to ride without a helmet? And could that be consider vehicler manslaughter if you allow someone to ride without a helmet on the back of your bike and you wreck killing them? Hmmmm I'm going to have to see if a draft of the bill in a site somewhere.
Re: Helmet Law....
Don't get me wrong, I feel naked w/o a helmet and I would never get on the highway w/o one. But, if I'm just running into town for something stupid, I might decide not to wear it. I don't do wheelies and I really don't even speed when I ride. I just think that, yeah, if you want the choice, you should have it.

Dam even if you dont crash getting hit in the face with a bug or rock would still hurt like a mother.

About the seatbelt law, bunch of BS too. I hate that one as well. About the passenger, I'd say its their choice as long as they are of age. I wouldn't make a passenger wear a helmet if I'm not myself, thats stupid. The only way they could consider it manslaughter would be if you were driving wrecklessly which caused the accident and ultimatly caused the death. I'd say its just like a car accident. If you get hit by another car and your passenger dies they can't charge you with manslaughter.

How can you say you'd ride without one, but then say its wrong for someone else?
