Calling all Computer Nerds

Due to my extreme lazyness, I do not want to take back my Computer or Call Circut City to try to get it fixed. I am offering a case of beer to whoever can fix my Computer...

My CD and CD/DVD burner are not working.
I've tried virtually everything
I even did a Full system recovery and that didn't work.
I think I looked at way too much **** and really funked something up.

Let me know

Ok few questions to solve this perplexing situation you are in.

1. Drives are not working? Meaning what? Do they light up and initialize upon boot up? Are they seen in your hardware properties in windows? Do they light up when discs are inserted?

2. Can you see the transport device i.e. the hard drive controller in your hardware manager?

3. No chance of the IDE cables being snagged or tugged becoming loose or partially plugged in?

If you can point me in the right direction it should be easy to figure out the issue but from your first post it’s hard to diagnose.

Ok, basically my CD drives both have taken a **** on me at the same time. I'm just taking the damn thing back, I paid for the mega Warranty so they are gonna have to fix it for me.

Thanks anyway
