07/09/04 approx 3:30-4:00am a buddy and myself were traveling down rt20 (lake st.) westbound in Elgin,IL (after the villa exit, before the 25 exit) doing the speed limit, (he was a new rider; I was taking him out on one of my bikes to get some practice in when traffic was less dense) 55 MPH when a DRUNKEN ******* plowed into my friend from behind doing at least 100+ MPH!!! As we were riding along I remember the last time checking on him in my mirror, I saw the bike on it's side sliding along the road, and I could hear the scraping sound it was making, as I continued to glance in the mirror the bike was actually about to PASS me as it was sliding on it's side! In fear for myself at this point in time I nailed the throttle to attempt to get out of harms way fearing the bike would take me down too! I then slowed when I knew the bike that was sliding on the ground no longer posed a threat to myself! Being so far away from where my buddy was I decided it would be best to exit and "double back" rather than try to run all that way back to him, so I hit the brakes and took the very next exit (25) to double back. At this point and time I still had not known what really happened, I did not know that he was actually hit by a car (I did think; "well maybe because he is new, that it could have been his fault") as I was exiting I did something I *NEVER* do, and god only knows why, I glanced OUT of my turn, looked back to the main road to see a (newer) silver VW passat with pretty severe front end/front right end damage and smoking like a chimney! (why did I not give chase, I was already more than half way through the exit ramp, and being so concerned about my buddy it was a VERY tough split second decision). I flew down the opposite side of the e-way (road/rt20) turned around again, and flew back up and finally to what seemed like an eternity made it back to where my buddy was standing on the side of the road! I repeatedly asked how he was and requested that he remain still. Luckily there were two witnesess that pulled over to his aid (even before I got there of course) in a BMW that had just came from the cadillac ranch, They said they saw the WHOLE THING! (my thanks goes out to you guys again if you happen to see this) They insisted the guy was drunk (because of how severely he was swearving)(and that he most likely came from "the ranch" like they had [except they were responsible enuff to not drink and drive]) and they also estimated his speed around 100+ MPH when he just plowed into the rear of my buddy on the bike! As my buddy recalls he recalls riding along, then sustaining a severe impact from the rear, was NOT immediatley ejected rather the car "rode" the bike & him along (for who knows how far/many hundreds of feet) before the car and him & the bike becoming seperated! (that right there supports how fast he was going,,, think about it,,, after he hit the bike, the bike was about to PASS me as it was sliding on it's side!!!) The DRUNKEN ******* never even so much as slowed down !!! The elgin police,,, WHAT A JOKE,,, the one cop started to question me asking me how fast we were going, when i replied the speed limit, around 55-60 MPH his reply was BULLSHIT,,, to that I basically replied that I am telling him the truth and he should appreciate it, again he relpied BULLSHIT,,, that just totally began to **** me off really, so I told him that I was telling him the truth, he should appreciate it, and if he was smart enuff he would be able to tell by the damage to the bike what we were saying was true, got so pissed I told him to suck my d^Šk turned around and walked away from him! another cop much later on told us how "we might not catch the guy" "hes prolly long gone by now" WHAT **** OFFS!!! ****ING LAZY *** POLICE!!! they didn't seem like they actually were going to do anything they seem like **** OFFS!!! I have been attempting to get the media involved (channel 2,5,7,9,32) newspapers, radiostations, you name it to try to catch this DRUNKEN *******!!! I called all the body shops in the area that I could find, I called all the VW dealers that I could find, I called VW roadside assistance (they werent much help [but that would be a really easy way to catch him if the idiot called for a roadside assistance after the fact] they said the police would have to call them) I went to "the ranch" and notified one of the bouncers what had happened, and he said he would do whatever he can to help including spreading the word around as much as he can. Now I am going to post everywhere I can on "the web". as far as my buddy he has been released from the hospital (and I am not good with medical terms) but he does have a spinal injury!!!! has been released put on pain killers and referred to a specialist. So *ANYONE* that can be of *ANY* help, from calling and bothering the media to help us get a story, to just spreading the word around and keeping an eye out for the vehicle involved, it would be *GREATLY* appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!

once again the vehicle involved was a (newer) SILVER VW PASSAT that has considerable front end/front right end damage (that was smoking like a chimney [so he prolly blew his radiator]) the person was alone and had no passengers according to the witnesses.

whats up dude.sorry to hear about your friend.i just wanted to let you know i live out by rockford but i work close by where the accident took place.if i see any thing ill let you know.i dont really hang out out there but i do know alot of people from work.so ill ask around and see if i can find out anything

Man thank god your friend walked away from that crash, sooner or later you guys will find that ******* believe me **** like that always comes up. Just tell as many people as you can and post as much as you can, somewhere somehow sometime sombody will hear something.

My name is Shawn Blake and my phone number is (630) 890-5587, unfortunatley I no longer have a phone number to channel 7 because it was only in my call logs in my celly and got written over I have a way for ppl to send email to ABC7 news chicago, through their website at http://abclocal.go.com/wls/news/wls_contactform.html and send to ABC7 Investigative Team, I know that it does say they do NOT accept story ideas through the website/email although that IS how I got a phone call from them in the first place, because I do NOT have a fax machine (or access to one really) but it does say for story ideas to send a fax to: the ABC7 news planners @ (312) 899-8019... I also believe whoever can actually do *both* will help even more,,,its just one more way to "bother" them into doing the story!

Thank you *very* much, that's very helpful of you, and for all we know the guy could live NE where from near where the accident took place (by where u work) or all the way to rockford (where you live) seeing as you can take rt20 to get to rockford,,, I greatly appreciate all the help!!! The more *we* can *all* spread this around like a wildfire the more likely we will catch this ******* and he will be brought to justice for my friend and I, and he wont be able to do this to NEone else!!!

Daamn...I will send them an email tonight when I get home from work, maybe from a few different addresses, I think if a large group of people here would all contact them it would give them more of an urge to do a story on it, as soon as someone gets thru to them, and the story airs someone, somewhere WILL know somethin bout the car or driver....so email the news-station people if ya have a chance

Basically shawn im gonna send them your story you have posted here, with cuss words removed and what-not, if you have anymore additional info since i dont know either of you personally shoot me a pm/email man,like with his name and stuff...

man after seeing the pics i am glad to hear your buddy made it threw the whole thing.i am starting to get the word around work so like i said if i hear anything i will let you know.oh i went buy the vw dealer in rockford and didnt see anything.from the way it sounds you might went to try calling some local towing companys.might find something that way....if you couoold tell you buddy hope he heels quickly and fully. talk to you soon

Now I am outraged, my buddy just recieved a letter from the Elgin police today stating that the case is closed because "we are unable to complete the report with the information provided" "all questions on this report should be directed to the traffic unit, (847) 289-2661." What the hell is that,, like I said the Elgin police are doing NOTHING to try to catch this guy ! ! ! That makes me SICK ! ! !

One thing you have to remember the police no longer are here to " serve and protect", They are revenue enhancement officers. Their primary purpose is generate $$$$$ for the city, county, state etc. If is going to take time,thats money out not money in

Hey man sorry to hear about the accident, and tell your buddy good luck with everything. The thing about the ******* cops is the **** that the media and other liberal pussies say about anyone on a bike that actually has some ***** to it. The reputation of sportbike riders is terrible although the majority of your accidents are caused by dumbass women drivers or drunks like this dick that hit your friend. So many guys lose their lives due to the irresponsiblity of dumbass drivers and we take all the heat. And they wonder why we are all screaming FTP! Keep your head up and punch this *** in the mouth when you find him!

Sorry to hear about your friend. I hope you can catch the guy and give him a dose of justice (your own brand). But xrmoneypit, some of us "dumb *** women" ride too. We face just as many dangers as you guys.
