so some old guy decides to pull out in front of me around 445pm on friday 11/18/2005, a couple days later insurance totals bike...after gettin it back from dealership i examine the bike and there is no way this is totaled...all i need to replace (non cosmetic) is

the rear wheel
headlight
upperfairing (and fairing stay)
and maybe the forks (slightly bent if at all)

other then that and cosmetics the bike is fine...why the heck would this be totaled (not that i care cuz its paid off and mine now)

dam that looks like it hurt... i total agree with the whole old people suck when i first stared riding a year and half ago i was almost hit twice in a month by old folks not watching were the hell they were going oh well still here and bikes still good!

the bike is totalled because everysingle part that was damaged is taken into account. the frame is scratched, therefore needing to be replaced. and then everysingle other part that is not like it was before the wreck. glad to hear your ok. old guy pulled out in front of my dad and he broke his femur. just buy the bike from the insurance company. if you buy it and want to sell it i might be interested depending on the price haha. but ya glad you werent hurt.

 

im sure you were just using it as an example, but the frame wasnt scratched, dented or anything...prefectly fine. but ya i know why they did it but at same time dont ya know lol. when i took it to get an estimate they came up with 5k and change in parts alone so ya. anyway its over and done with, except for the fact thats its sittin in garage. make an offer, if its good enough i just might consider it. it had 23+ thousand miles, up until accident was in perfect condition and serviced on time everytime. had original chain and sprockets and still had life in them lol. ask questions, make an offer and we will go from there.

 

well, since it was paid off, and you got money for it, ill give you 500 cash- 600 if you would take it next week

technically i didnt get money for it...in fact i still owe 600 on it. the insurance said it was worth 6100 before accident, i owed 5600. the buy back was 1200, so if i didnt buy it back i would have got 500 or so and if i did i would owe 600 or so (used even numbers to make math easier lol) so since i got it back i didnt get anything but the bike bein paid off (i paid the 600 between the time of accident and me gettin check) i would like the 5-600 but i think im gonna hold out man. as soon as i can get it back together my brother-in-law said he would give me 4k...i dont know what i gonna do i will keep the offer in mind though. hell if something doesn't start goin my way before i leave for the marines i may just do it (would prefer and even grand minimum though lol)

oh im not askin for 4k in its current condition lol. i only have that offer after i get it fixed. as for the marines it all determines on when i get tired of looking for a job. i mean i could leave tomorrow if i wanted to. there are several things that will determine on when i leave and whether or not i go active or reserve, so there is a little time.

 

People just dont pay attention to the bikes on the road, It has been like that for ever and Old people are the worst. We as riders all have to look out for the stupid drivers on the road. If someone hits me and I live through it I will own there house, dog, and wife !!!
