Some questions from your fellow newbie.

Hey. I'm new to bikes and looking to purchase one.. I'm lookin at the Suzuki500s and I was wondering if it would be too powerful for me, I weigh around 130 and Have been riding MX for a little while. I usually ride my YZ80, and YZ125. Any help would be apprieciated. Thanks

Erik will become famous soon enough
the new 500's suzuki's coming out with are a wonderful idea in my mind. They won't have that killer performance of any of their other bikes, but at the same time will provide enough power for a nice entry bike for beginner riders to start to hone their skills on the street. I think you'd make a wise choice starting out with such a bike. Then after a season or less(depending on skill and confidence) you can move up Oh yeah, welcome to SL

Welcome to SL
I started out with the zx6r and it is plenty bike for one who has never even ridden a dirt bike, but like everyone else has said, it is all about being confidant and not too confident all at the same time.
which ever bike you choose, good luck, and keep one wheel up!!

Thanks for welcoming me, seems like a nice setup in forums.

Also, Me and my friend WheelieboyChris were doing some research earlier, I'm really liking the FZR600s. He says as long as I'm not dumb, and have confidence I will be good. What do you guys think?

Was doing a christ and I took my helmet off to say hey to the crowd. Bike got slow and wobbly, instead of pitching the helmet and droppin back into the seat I tried savin it. Hit the ground and the helmet came off. Thankfully the bike was going slow at the time so it didnt destroy to much. Cracked rear rim, scratched front rim. Cracked the front fairing, scratched all right side plastics and tore the passanger seat up. Im breathing and riding so thats all that matters.

500's make for great entry bikes, i had never ridden before so i chose a Ninja 500 because i was afraid of getting too much power. i wont lie, its fun to ride, but i definately wish i had started with something a little bigger. my advice is to stick with a F4i or R6.
