Newbie here

Hey guys I'm new here so I got a couple of quick questions.

Currently I have no bike but I am working to get one.
Most likely yamaha r6 or gsxr 600.

I've been told by everyone BIKES ARE DANGEROUS YADA YADA
YOU CAN DIE AT 20MPH ON A BIKE!!!

I'm thinking.. just like I always have I don't care about the risks.. In fact that's what makes it fun for me.
I don't want to be afraid of doing something I love just because of the risk that is involved.
ANYWAY my question is...

What mods are needed for a bike to be a good stunt bike specifically a gsxr 600 (newer models)

How long before I've been riding should I start practicing wheelies and such?

Re: Newbie here

Welcome to SL!!! Stay away from gixxers to start.. If you wanna learn, rock a Honda! Suckers are like The Terminator of the sport bike world... If your around guys who know what they're doing and can help you then start when ever.. But if your ridin alone or with people who don't know anything then wait a bit get some seat time..

Re: Newbie here

Alright, thanks for the info man I appreciate it.
So what do you suggest I start with?

Id really prefer not to start with anything in the 250cc range.
Also If I was to start with a gsxr I would not be stupid enough to try to stunt with no experience.
So taking that into consideration if I did happen to start with a gsxr would it be totally un-safe to ride casually around as a beginner?
At least until I am experienced enough to try something more.

Re: Newbie here

If you've never rode before I would shop around until you found the bike thats most comfortable.. If that turns out to be a gixxer than right on.. But if you intend on learning to stunt it, than go find a clapped out F4I and go to town..

Re: Newbie here

Alrighty so the Gixxer is not a good first choice from what I can tell so far.

There is a bunch of cbr f2's on my local craig's list and they're going for pretty cheap too.
what do you think of this?

Thanks for the info! When I do get my bike I'll be sure to head to the parking lot or wherever.
Have my friend record my attempts and you guys can have a good laugh at it.

Re: Newbie here

Get an F4i. For $2500 you could find one clapped out. You might have to spend up tp $3500 to get one but it'll be worth it. Dont start w a gsxr I did and I wound up breaking the subframe everytime I would come back and hit the bar while learning the brake putting me out for weeks at a time

Just becuase I have an RR doesn't mean I don't know anything about any other bike.. And what I said was an opinion because it takes about one minute to find someone saying something negative about stunting a gixxer. And Im pretty sure at least 75% of this forum would recommend a bike capable of handling more abuse to a new rider trying to learn.. If im wrong so be it.. But like I said, it was an opinion.. If you don't like it, then state yours....
