I'm a Pharmacy Operations Manager for a PBM pharmacy...
Lortab comes in MANY dosage forms. The most common is actually 10/650 (10 mgs of hydrocodone combined with 650 mgs of acetaminophen) which is sometimes called a Lortab Plus. It is also available in 10/500, 2.5/500, 5/500, 7.5/500. The acetaminophen increases the effectiveness of the hydrocodone. If you take acetaminophen 30 minutes before taking a pain pill it will increase the effects.

That is not the only pharmacological reason. That is only one small part of the equation. It also has to do with dilation of your capillaries among other things.

mail me some more pain meds please, the doctors wont give me any more, they say i need to find another alternative besides narcotics.
