lately ive been thinking of insulating the garage door, for both sound and heat.

i have a big 1 piece metal door that basically folds out and up. i was thinking of putting a layer of dynomat on the inside, then a layer of 1" styrofoam on top of the dynomat.

• The 03-06 CBR 600RR , 03-05 Yamaha R6 ,03 04 gsxr 1000 and the f4i pegs are lowered and moved back and out for better peg position! !
• The 01-03 GSXR 600 and 750 have the pegs moved out two inches because of the big tail section
• THE 07 600RR pegs are located 2-1/2 inches lower and 3 inches wider (Than stock)
• All other omr subframe cage models are in the stock location except they are rotated on their axis so they don't fold up unless you fold them up, this also puts your foot on the grippy part of the peg during a wheelie.

never gets that cold here so im lucky in that way and my garage door is made of about 4 layers of wood so the sound isn't usually a problem , i work at night most of the time and when i need to grind some thing i close it so i don't **** off the neighbors

 

I did some testing saturday with my air compressor, which isnt as loud as a grinder. closing the door only knocked like 2 db off the volume. still loud enough to wake up neighbors.

 

I insulated with that pink foam board insulation .... worked decent ... still lose most my heat from there - or the fact that the door isn't 100% sealed around the edges ....

 

ya a thin metal door isn't gonna do much , my compressor is soooooooooo ******* loud ....lol

 

ive been thinking about building a little concrete block shed for it behind the garage, but then id never remember to drain the water


hey did you know that when its 20 degrees out, your compressor wont develop any water in the tank? i just learned that last month

 

my garage is like 1/3 the size of yours, and the ceiling isnt even insulated

 

is the temperature the reason or the humidity level ?

my guess is that at 20% the humidity is below 5%

 

for what you would spend on blocks and concrete you could probably fully insulate your garage

 

when the temp gets that low, the humidity freezes and i guess it just falls to the ground
