If you can get the cover back on, you should be able to get it off. I don't think you'd damage those bearings with a little heat.

if i bolt it on, then i only have to unbolt it to take off the cover. i'm just concerned with the effect of having an extra long arm. i can probably get away with one bolt the new stock arm without taking off the cover.

mike only made his 10 mm so he could have taken it out and put it back in but if you make it longer then that you can't get it back in ....

and welding the arm makes more then a little heat ....that and if you do it in the cover you can't weld the bottom ..

oh snap! i actually figured out the concept. i'm just going to get another stock clutch arm drill one hole in the prexisting and the new one to line up, drill off the old stock arms rivets and i'm done.

you need at least two bolts or the arm will twist when you pull in the clutch but yes you will need to unbolt it if you ever need to take the cover off but thats no big deal

I don't get why you are using two clutch arms. Are you calling the piece of flat steel a clutch arm? You're not going to buy a whole other rod and cut it up are you?
