We actually hook up the patient, conduct the studies ordered by the doctor, give them medication for certain things, and fix them if they have apnea. The doctor looks at the study the next day and goes from there. I wish my job was as easy as it sounds!

I actually got a BS in Chemistry with intentions of going to medical school. I wanted to be a rural GP. After working in a walk-in medical center for 3 years and not being able to stay well, I decided I needed to pick a field where patients weren't as contagiously sick. In doing so, I ended up in the field.

At this time of the morning, the pressure is on to get patients fixed who aren't. A lot of times they will be getting some REM around this time of the morning and it's very important to get them fixed in REM. Thank God my lab isn't in a hospital.
