The headlights can be polished with sand paper and then rubbing compound. It works great but takes a couple hours.

last time i replaced bulbs, i looked into splitting the housing open to do that. it doesnt look like it would go back together and stay together. I also dont have a couple hours, or I would have changed my oil by now. Its been like 15k+ miles now

According to the forums, WJ grand cherokees never came with a manual. TJ's have the same engine and a 5 speed, but it wont mate to my transfer case. The tcase in TJ's is a good one, but its a good deal shorter than mine, so I would need a new rear driveshaft too.

You'd lose your full time 4wd option.

Worked on mine. They were really cloudy and yellowing. They came out crystal clear. After a year or two I had to do them again.

Polycarbonate really doesn't like UV light. You can do that, but the plastic will degrade really quickly. From the factory there is a UV hardcoat that you just sanded and buffed off.

Actually I think there is. It doesn't look as good as factory, but it is good enough for a 10 year old truck.

I tried to keep them waxed but I got lazy. Do think that would have helped?
