Dude im a tell you this, there are cops all over western NC just cause the simple fact that I-40 runs in to Tenn and I-26 as well ,,, police love being around the interstate and local law loves the backroads so just be careful man.

I never saw so many cops like I did when I was there. Every interstate exit, every corner and every turn the highway patrol was there in their chargers. I got lucky with no tickets though.
