Setting up a dhcp clustered service (have to migrate everything by hand from the old crappy windows setup) on an existing Novell Linux OES2 cluster. It is probably 20 times more complicated than you think. High availability man, there are a ton of students here, and with more and more wireless devices dhcp becomes more important. This is part of the bigger project of moving to static dns as well this week. This is all for only the student side.

I never said you did - I just said that most people did and then its blamed on the industry when in reality thats the homeowners fault for doing so.

Re: OMR SUBCAGE [subframe cage]

I probably shouldnt have even voiced my opinion on this whole mortgage debate but everyone was so I joined in. I dont think its right that everyone just blames the industry when the borrowers were right there pushing to get there deals done too. In situations like Niner's where he was lied to flat out, thats fucked up. BUT in every industry there are people who arent ethical and just lie to make money. Im sure there are plenty of shady engineers that you know and I know plenty of shady IT guys too. Thats just the way it is. Im out. Braaaap. Goin riding.

Just like credit card companies that up limits on cards then as soon as people use them they up the % and people can never get out at that point.

This is becoming a whole different argument about where responsibility lies.

I dont want peeps hatin on me coz I voiced my opinion and my opinion will probably be different than theirs because I was in the mortgage industry. One thing I do know is that I wasnt that shady dude rippin people off and lying to them. I was making 15-20k a month telling the truth and busting my *** so there was no reason to lie. But it is what it is. Most mortgage brokers are grouped as scum and thats it.

Eh not going riding now. Supposed to rain so peeps backed out and I dont wanna get stuck in the rain either **** it. I shouldve left earlier instead of debating

Beckers, the package tracking shows it will be delivered on Saturday but I dont know if they'll actually deliver it Saturday or on Monday. I'll check it again on Friday and see what they say then.

When engineers lie they end up in front of a jury.

why did borrowers push to get deals done? Because the lending institutions were promising sunshine and rainbows by blowing smoke up america's ***. There were many reports by economic analysts that foreshadowed this - and many insiders that even admitted the industry knew the possible consequences. So again - **** the last 5 years of the system, if all the blame lies on the end user then we should be regulating ourselves in every other aspect as well - but we don't get to.
when IT guys are shady they may get a few free computer parts or get to look at sites others dont, when engineers are shady they may get a few tools or prototype things to take home and play with ... when the lending industry is shady the entire countries housing market crumbles, then people that don't deserve it get all sorts of perks.

Same but different. A house is different than a credit card and should be looked at as different. Anyway, Im out. Got someone to rock with for a bit so I'll be back later.

That was just an analogy. Credit card companies use similar tactics, just like those payday loan places.

I gotta bounce but thats bullshit. When an engineer is shady he ***** his customers. When an IT guy is shady he ***** his customers. Same applies to every industry. There's always people who dont practice ethically and the customer is the one who gets fucked. Agreed that because of the high foreclosure rate that now the whole economy is fucked because of it but thats life.

Customers should know not to trust anyone without seeing things in writing. Borrowers pushed to get their deals done because they wanted in the home so bad. If they were told there payments would be 2000 a month and they got to closing and its 2000 a month and 2 years from now it goes up and they still did it - thats on them not the industry. Just my

Im out. We could do this all day Im sure.

Understood but homeowners know that when their property value goes up and they take more money out that their payment increases too which makes it harder to make their monthly bills. Thats common sense but most homeowners chose to ignore it so they could take the cash out to do whatever they wanted to do with that money.
