i guess it all depends on where you work. I work at a hospital. Most people wouldn't think of going to a hospital for computer/IT work. But when it comes down to it, the medical field relies on computers more then any other field. And most of the people that work in my department have been here for 10-20 years. So with little computer knowledge you can go a long way in a place like that.

I had gotten a lot of certifications and worked at different places so i didn't have to do much to have them constantly bump me up here.

Most work i do here now is when we update the servers or if something goes down. But it's usually just dumb calls. Nurse's unplugging **** and no realizing it so they call down here and we talk them through stuff.

Re: OMR SUBCAGE [subframe cages]

People don't realize that to the younger generation stuff that was taught years ago at "computer school" or whatever is common knowledge to younger people.

So if you find a place that has older people running the place or IT department they will think your a genius if you know the basics. All you have to do is stay on top of new stuff that comes out and be willing to learn new stuff and be familiar with your work.

there's a 20 something storey building in sydney I used to go to for work and it's all just admin stuff for the sydney area health, couldn't believe how many people were needed for it then most hospitals have buildings full of the same type people.

ya im at the main building, theres like a communications and networking wing for all the biomedical and network/IT stuff

but there are buildings all over the place for admin stuff. I think my work own's 3 blocks and every building on the 3 blocks. Plus other campus's around the area for outpatient stuff.

I can only imagine for major city's like sydney

I can do a lot of stuff but figured it's all just general knowledge you know? Saw an ad in the paper and they wanted someone who could use word and powerpoint. Never done any courses or anything but I built mine up and I can use it lol
