yo roger, you are oldest so maybe you can answer this question........... in cars back in the day was it possible to shift from 5th gear to reverse on accident cause in cars now they dont allow you but was it possible in cars from yrs ago??

i never tried in fear of ****** **** up... this kid told me someone fucked up their friends old rx-7 cause it was 5speed and they were use to their 6 speed... i mentioned it to my boy and while we were in his car he showed me that it doesnt allow it to go from 5th to reverse.. so i told the kids in skool he was a lying and so he claimed that the old rx-7's could do it since they were so old

I drove an old beat up 1970 something BMW once and it wouldnt let you shift from gear to reverse.

 

i doubt that. a tranny from an RX-7 wasn't very different from any other tranny from back then, only the motor was unique. if u switched from a forward moving gear to a reverse gear, u'd **** up the gears inside the transmission. i know cuz an ex of mine fucked mine up like that once, but out of first. i should have choked her stupid *** for that ****. anyway, the way they do that **** in the movies when they spin and start going in reverse is by putting the car in neutral and locking the wheels then putting it in reverse once the car starts riding backwards.

 

Every car I've ever drove wouldnt let me go from any gear to reverse. You'd have to put it into N first prior to going into reverse.

 

talking about a manual tranny. once u get the wheels rolling backwards, after u've 180'd the car around like in the movies, u can put it in reverse. the wheels just have to be going in reverse.

 

i figured it would **** **** up but evidently you cant go from 5th to reverse... and im askin if the older cars can??

also, the reverse gear can only spin so fast. it cant handle maintaining high speeds unless its bigger than stock.

on old four speed cars you could grind the gears by trying to go into reverse while moving but it would be very unlikely that you would actually get it in reverse

 

Thats what I'm saying. On the BMW I drove it wouldnt even let you get to the point where you grind gears.

• The 03-06 CBR 600RR , 03-05 Yamaha R6 and the f4i pegs are lowered and moved back and out for better peg position!
• The 01-03 GSXR's have the pegs moved out two inches because of the big tail section
