i've noticed that a lot with a lot of new cars too. We don't get many american cars here but the japanese ones seem to have different names.

Re: The new O.M.R. sub-cage thread!!!!

My uncle bought his 79 Z28 new . It had the same wheels as the one you posted , and it was black .

In 1987 he bought a new monte carlo ls , and still had the z28 . But being in Illinois and driving it in winter (They put salt on the roads during winter by the ton) , it was pretty rusty . He planned on doing a full body restoration . He still drove it .

At the same time , he bought a house 2 streets over from where my parents lived .

At that time in 1987 i was in high school . A friend of mine down the street bought a blue 77 olds cutlass for his first car . It was the party mobile .

One day after school , my friend piled 4 of his buddies in the car and drove around town drinking and partying .

My uncle was just getting off work and driving home in his Z28 . He was driving down Arlington Heights road , when out of nowhere my friend pulled out from a side street and my uncle t-boned him doing about 45mph .

My uncle said when he hit him beer cans flew out of the car . .

My uncle was pretty cool about it . He told them to pick up all the beer cans , and for all of his friends to leave the scene so the cops wouldn't know about it .

My friend got tickets from the cops , but not a DUI .

The next day my friend told me he was in an accident and totalled his car .

Later that night my uncle came over to tell my dad about the accident . I was listening to him tell my dad . Not realizing yet that my friend was involved in the accident .

I told my friend that he hit my uncle , and he was like oh **** , i'm sooo sorrry

Re: The new O.M.R. sub-cage thread!!!!

There is a huge chrysler plant in Belvidere Illinois (right by my house)

They made all the dodge neons . After that car , they made the patriot and caliber .

Chrysler is so in debt , they are cutting all the 3rd shift employees and are going to stop making certain cars . It is going to effect 1,100 workers in my area .

That is alot around here because Belvidere is a small town and there is not alot of other jobs around this area .

I had a light blue 71 Buick Sylark 2door with a white top , and a dark blue 73 Buick lesabre 2door with a white top .

The lesabre was my first car . i bought it for $100

The sklark i bought for $51 and eventually i spectator raced it at Sycamore Raceway in Illinois
