Particles coming from space move faster than light when they hit the atmosphere because light travels faster in a vacuum than it does in the earths atmosphere so perhaps they did it in a vacuum

u really didnt read that somewhere did u? cuz i actually did the calculations in a physics class i took back in college and it came out that an infinite amount of energy would be needed to push an object up to lightspeed, hence making it impossible to make anything accelerate to lightspeed.

particals can travel faster in a vacuum with the same amount of thrust as they do in atmosphere but light speed is a constant in avacuum or not....

like i said it was thought to be impossible but it has been done while splitting atoms in a partical accelerator..

splitting an atom is basicly a nuclear explosing

it travels even slower in water. thats why an object looks really close when its under water but its actually much deeper. same priciple applies to the atmosphere. what happens is that the light particles bump into the atoms that make up the water. it really doesnt slow down; it just has to move around atoms and molecules and ****. kinda like having to take a twisted road versus a straight line. it takes longer to get from point A to point B.

anyway, enough of the nerdiness. whats up with yall?

it causes one, yeah. crazy how something so small releases so much energy, huh? i read that splitting one causes a chain reaction and several end up splitting, and a 40 mile explosion is produced

That sucks. I slept late like I usually do on Saturday and called him when he was at the hospital. Tell him I hope he feels better when you speak to him and tell him if he needs some real pain killers I could hook it up.
