Marginal propensity has nothing to do with investment... it has to deal with consumption and disposable income. MPC (Marginal Propensity to Consume) is referenced to a households saving ratio for each dollar earned.

Re: Time Clock

when we were talking about marginal propensity in class they used it in reference to the marginal cost vs. the marginal benefit????

instructor used the example of spending 1$ to make 2$....idk i just learned it, but i do know futures markets and while it is not easy for everyone with the right trading rules in place it is very doable to make an obcene amount of money

I made over 20g's in a week in my paper trading account online based on realtime price data!!!

I dont have enough to buy trading rights yet but if i did i would be tradign already!!!

Well when you talk about marginal cost vs. marginal benefit you are talking about something completely different. Use hot dogs as an example... if you are looking at it on a graph you want to view it as a cost vs. benefit analysis. So if you are starving, the first cost of that hot dog is not relevant to you... you'll pay whatever you need (or within reason) to get that hot dog. But as you consume more hot dogs your marginal benefit will increase as your marginal cost decreases. After about your 10th hot dog you probably wouldn't even take a hot dog if it was free. So in this case your marginal benefit is now maxed out b/c you, as a consumer, are satisfied and you have exhausted your marginal cost.

Re: Time Clock

Also, if your instructor is using the example you described he is probably using Marginal Propensity to Save.

I test asphalt for LaFarge. I take random samples from our silos during the load out phase for each job, break down the asphalt and test each of it properties. Oil content, aggregate make up, volumetric design, stability... etc.
