so i wrote a lil toast for my brother's wedding what do you think??
Hello, my name is Adam, I’m Bryan’s brother. I’d like to thank everyone for attending today and being a part of Bryan and Grace’s wedding. I know they really appreciate everyone here, helping to celebrate this occasion. And there is definitely reason for celebration….I wasn’t sure Bryan was ever going to stop working long enough to find himself a bride, let alone one as beautiful and amazing as Grace. He’s really the lucky one here. Grace……well Grace you know what you got with Bryan…..Good luck!!
But in all seriousness, I’m very happy for both of them. I’ve learned that no matter how great life can be, it is always more fulfilling when you have someone special to share it with.
Now I’ve known Bryan my entire life and I have to admit something I’ve never admitted before. Bryan has always been someone I looked up to. I’ve always admired his resolve and his drive to achieve what he wanted. He was the valedictorian his senior year of high school, and if that wasn’t enough, he also played two varsity sports. He then went on to attend Amherst College, which he paid for himself by selling books, door to door, in the summer. He graduated with honors and from there it was straight to Morgan Stanley, New York, Hong Kong, England…..you get the idea. Now a lot of people with an older brother like Bryan, the kind of person that seems to naturally succeed at life, might resent him. That was never the case with us. I was always very proud of Bryan and his accomplishments, and his attitude towards me never changed. Sure his vocabulary got larger and his tone at times was somewhat pretentious, but he was always just Bryan. The same goofy kid I shared a room with from the time I was born to the day he left for college. The kind of brother you can call anytime and just talk to about life’s obstacles. He has always been there to listen and never hesitated to offer help. Some people misunderstood him, took his demeanor the wrong way, and it always made me laugh. Most people would let the kind of success at life, which Bryan has experienced, go to their heads. But not Bryan, and once again he has succeeded at life…….the day he asked Grace to marry him.
From what I’ve seen Grace understands Bryan as well. She’s seen the all business, not so friendly side, when they first met. As well as the goofy and at times child like side of Bryan that seems to keep him grounded. I’m very happy that Bryan was able to find, and manage to somehow convince, a girl as amazing as Grace to marry him. I’ve had the privilege of getting to know Grace over the last several years, and I couldn’t be happier for Bryan. Grace is beautiful, intelligent, witty, and most importantly patient, or we all wouldn’t be here today. I hope Bryan realizes that this is one of his most successful accomplishments. And I’d like to wish them the best of luck as they travel down the road of life together.
