Misfortune of someone else saves me today

Well I was out riding around today and pulled a wheelie infront of a line of cars going the other direction. Well, to my luck a cop was in the other lane and as soon as I was in the air I saw him and put the bike down. He flicked on his lights and I immediately pulled over. Took off my helmet, grabbed my license and registration and was waiting for me to get a small ticket. Well after I give him my license and registration he sees that my license is expired. Well that was news to me and i was surprised cause I didn't know it was out. So he starts telling me the tickets he's gonna nail me for.
Riding without due car and attention $396
Operating a motorvehicle with a expired license: (Didn't give me a price, but i imagine expensive)
License Plate Bent ($110)
No Mirrors (?)
He wanted to tow my bike too.

Well this guy goes to his car and comes back 2 minutes later, I'm thinking oh great, gonna have just a stupid amount of money to pay. So he comes back, tell me he has to go right now because there is an accident with someone injured. He says i have to call someone to come get my bike and if he sees me ride it he is ticketing me cause he has 6 months to write me up on my violations.

I was so stoked I didn't get any tickets! Luck was on my side today. Hopefully the person who he had to go attend isn't badly injured.

Why did you stop? Not saying you should have ran but if you had that much time to pull over and get ready waiting for him.
