Sounds like your asking what the AVERAGE joe-blow thinks, NOT other stunters.....I have had some buddies that either just street ride or don't ride at all come to my spot and check out my stuff. They are mostly excited by burnouts with the rev limiter and alot of smoke(especially lawnmowers) I done a couple of fast, tight dounts and they thought a stand still rev limiter burn was cooler. The wheelies are all mostly the same to them, same thing with endos.

 

Faster the better. Slow wheelies aren't impressive to your average joe blow.

 

as gay as it sounds crowds always love burnouts and acrobatics. the crowd usually doesn't understand or appreciate the level of difficulty in the more technical tricks.

I've seen teach ride a lot and hw always looks on the edge kinda like he's going to crash but he doesn't....the crowd soaks that up big time!

 

christ air. I linked a couple clips to a friend with some sick stunting in it. His response was "when he stood up on the bike it was awesome, everything else just looked the same".

 

people love speed, burnouts and destruction. destruction... destruction. Darius blowing up his bike on SIU2.. prime example.

 

I think the crowds favor squid stunting. Style and toughness of a trick has no effect on a crowds applause. A christ air will get more yelling than a no handed sit down.

 

you're absolutely right.....I've seen it too many times!

that why I ride two different ways

when I'm at the spot practicing I work on technical tricks for my own enjoyment and to kepp up with what's current

at shows I whip out a bunch of lame tricks the crowd likes and I throw in a few technical tricks. One thing that really helps with a crowd is a GOOD anouncer! If the announces lets the crowd know how hard the tricks are and understands what's going on he/she can create a lot of excitment

 

Man, I did a small comp and got *kicked out* for being "Wreckless" with highchairs and spreaders and some fool (my mate ) wins with highchair burnouts!!

What about Ape Hangers? Everytime Friends who aren't into stuntin see a Ape Hanger they're like "Holy-****, LOOK LOOK, He just FELL OFF..... Oh wait, SWEET he did that on purpose!!!!" Funny as Hell

Last night I did one at the spot and some squid screams "Aww **** that fool done f@cked up!!!!!" as I pull out of it onto the tank and look over at his ignorant @$$.


I've learned at many comps that all the crowds care about is crashing, burnouts, and acros. I've lost many comps judged by crowds in the past because I didn't have the funds to blow up a tire or motor or break a bone for them. Now that the sponsors handle that, I give it hell Crash a high chair scrape???? hell yea

I think as the sport goes more mainstream the crowd will get more educated! come awn x-games!!!!!!!

acrobatics... wheelies all look the same to people who dont stunt... acrobatics give it a "wow factor" like "did you just see that *sshole jump from the pegs to the tank then do a handstand???" people dont understand the skill it takes to 12, do coasters, scrape, ect....
