well, i had a rearset break on me the other day whenever i was trying some stupid ****...the little triangle (bracket) broke, the peg and shifter are usable....well, after having it welded the other day the welder said that the cast was **** but that it might work till' i got another one....well, it broke again, as expected.....so.....i just decided to make my own until i can find another.....
here are some pics...
remember it's "just a triangle"....
just take two pieces of bar stock 1".....drill a hole in the end of each of them for the peg
drill a hole on each to mount up to the frame
piece them back together on the bike (think jig)
tack weld....
take them back off
weld them bitches up at all points possible..
grind of sharp edges
stick that **** back on your bike and hope to hell you don't crash and break the tabs off the frame before you can get another rearset bracket......

btw, my camera sucks, if anyone really needs good pics post up and i'll take some more with a different camera.....

Have you thought about using an off cut peice of 10 - 12mm Alloy plating?

You would have to cut a triangle out of it but that would be very cost effective, Im only paying $7.50 for a 1Kg of 10mm Alloy plating.

Think Im gonna give it a go, will post some pics up when I get it finished.

 

actually that would probably be better because it would be less likely to bend the rearset frame tabs in the "unlikely..lol" event of a crash...but this was free, i had this stuff laying around my garage....also...i don't know how to weld aluminum...but i need to learn....
