Exclamation South Burlington Stunnas beware...

Just wanted to let everyone know that the South Burlington PD have a new Traffic Safety Officer and he's looking to bust heads. I've been pulled over twice in the past week on the way to work at 6:30 in the morning. Once for passing on a double yellow and the other time he pulled up next to me at the Dorset/Kennedy light and told me I need to slow down. He was riding the SBPD Harley at the time. Both times were near the Dorset/Kennedy light so he has a good hiding spot around there b/c I look for cops like an eagle, and I never saw him. The first time he got me he said he's new and he's specifically looking to bust "stunters and runners". I don't stunt at all nor do I ride like an idiot but I'm usualy going 15-20 over the limit. I got pulled over twice for stupid things. Passing on a double yellow is not illegal but he said I have to do it in a "safe manner". What the shzinit does that mean? I can pass someone in 1 second anywhere!

Anywho, my point is that if he can pull me over for dumb stuff like that, he will definitely pull over people stunting. He told me so. Luckily I got a written warning but he said he's gonna bring the hammer down on everyone else. It seems to me that he's specifically targeting bikers, especially sport bikers. He was knowledgeable about my ride, too, b/c he said he also rides (not including the SBPD Harley Cop Bike). I have integrated rear brake/turn signals and he said that's illegal no matter what Roadside told me. He said he will be pulling over people for stuff like that, too. I imagine loud pipes would attract his attention. He seems to be from a bigger area where they maybe have a problem with bikes, but I don't think stunting and people acting stupid on bikes is that big of a problem in lil' Ole Vermont.

In summary, FTP.

Take a look at this page, http://www.vtbikeped.org/what/share/motorist_ltr.pdf

23 VSA 1035 - Limitations on Passing.

That explains what they can give you a ticket for. I'm fighting one of those currently as a matter of fact....LOL.

Re: South Burlington Stunnas beware...

Im a vermont boy too but u guys got it easy up there. I live in florida now and the cops here make the vt popo look like grandma's sittin on the porch. Some of the stunters down here got f'ed bad when the cops set up a big bust at a local ride spot. they drove down the street in 2 moving trucks then stoped in the middle of the road (which was lined with bikes) and a **** load of cops came out of the truck and took names and gave mad tickets.

ps give that cop mad **** cause when i come home im bringin the gsxr and we goin to raise some hell.

The cops in Vermont are getting bad on bikes this year. Why I don't know but if you read the Addison County Indepenent there are two people charged with excessive speed and negligent operation. What can I say found a new town to ride in. But if you are going to ride by a cop do a wheelie and FTP

:YEAH

the On ramp in Winooski to the interstate going south last year... In a wheelie going on the interstate, cops sees me from the other lane, immediately throws his lights on and darts for the nearest U turn.

Set it down and blast til you can't anymore.. I got away from that one... phew!

Yeah, I know that guy well. His name is Officer Dan Brunelle. Itook him on a wild goose chase last summer on Williston Road. :YEAH :YEAH The chase was called of at industrial ave., but there was a road block at the end of industrial past Roadside Marine. I was in a christ when he pulled up behind me. When I got down he was driving right behind me with just lights on and no sirens. I freaked and took off, just a reflex but then I had already started so I kept going. I think that is why he is out to get stunters, although he is always chill with me when he pulls me over. I am totally illegal and he turns his head. He'll take off and i"ll wait a couple minutes then split too. wierd!

Agian, same cop Dan Brunelle because he pulled me over shortly after Mike and told me that he had just pulled over "one of my friends," not that he thought Mike and I were friends. Smartass! He also said Mike's 12 bar was real cool, it says "FTP," or has it cut out rather. "**** the police," he said, cute! So funny!
