954 driving me crazy!

man I cant get the damn fuel pump to turn on........

Does anyone know if I can just hardwire it to the battery? Is the voltage the same? I checked all the fuses, replaced the diode under the ignition switch. I cant plug in the gauges cause I have none. Im running a 929 diode under the ignition switch and it has a extra wire in it. Im wondering if this is whats causing it but I have no clue. Anyone have any suggestions?

No Gauge ..no work on the fuel pump. Get one 1st and your fuel pump should turn on.

so what do I got to do then?

Do I just borrow some gauges plug em in and itll work? Then I can unplug then give them back and bike will work all the time? Or do I have to have the gauges on at all times for it to work? If so that sucks. Theres gotta be a way to bypass that if thats the case.

That will suck. I can ask around on what wires you really need to connect to get the bike running w/ out a gauge.

Re: 954 driving me crazy!

wheres the TIP sensor on a 954? Is it in the front or by the tank?

the bike has no headlight, gauges, or anything up front so I dont see one up there.

I helped a buddy of mine take his apart, I don't remember if its in the headlight or upper fairing stay - but I'm sure its in one of those two places . . . if you don't have either of those, it may have already been removed . . . if not, you take the two outer wires and tie them together, adn tape off the middle wire and done - you can't fill it with silicone like on gixxer's . . . as far as wiring the fuel pump to the battery, everything in the electronics runs on 12v, so you can plug it directly to the batt and fuse it and you should be fine . . .

P.s. the reason no gauges no fuel pump is because of the tip sensor

it is in the upper fairing stay bracket or attached to it anyways.

Re: 954 driving me crazy!

...that diode is crazy the way it screws everything up. I'll call a buddy of mine who's a freakin whiz on hondas and see what he has to say! He found and fixed the diode thing when the honda techs didn't have a clue.

Re: 954 driving me crazy!

Ok so I go back and check into this and this is where im at........

Im missing the whole front sub-harness. NUMBER 8 on the ronayers diagram. So I need to know what color the wires are where the sub-harness connects to the main harness. The two connectors that connect into 8 is as far as my harness goes. If anyone can run the wires from the TIP sensor all the way back to the main harness and let me know what color they are at the connecting point before NUMBER 8 on the diagram. Once I know that I can just snip the two wires and connect them and that should work right? I know that on the 03 954 the wires coming from the TIP sensor are solid green, solid white, and red with a white stripe. That plugs into a new plug and becomes black, white with a black stripe, and red with a orange stripe. I just dont know what comes after that. I hope this makes sense.

Man this is driving me crazy already. Damn salvage title bikes. I hate having to work out all the little problems.

If anyone can do this for me i would greatly appreciate it. This is for a 02 954.

The tipover switch isn't on the headlight on a 929... its in front of the battery

lol. I guess that is the F4i. Your right nags, it is infront of the battery on my minty fresh erion racing edition 929rr.
I think from now on everyone should direct their stunt questions to nags. The guy knows all.
