Texas Freestyle Comp. What if?

Im just curious to know who would be interested in competing in a freestyle comp in southeast texas if we were to put somthing together. What kind of payouts would it take to get the best of the best to come down and compete.I know from experience that no body in this sport can afford to make a 1500 or so mile trip for small change. If the event were individual freestyle and team freestyle only no amature / pro crap everyone against every one for all the cheese and if we could get enough money to gether pay out all the way to 4th 5th or even 10th.Who would be down?I mean we have a place to do it if we could get the money together from sponsors and entry fees.So give me some(serious) feedback on this and if i think it would be worth the work Ill try to put it together. Also let me know if yall know who would make good fair judges so we can make sure there are no mistakes on who really deserves to win.Hell i would make a good judge i mean hell ive been to and competed in comp where my own teamates won prizes that i thought should have gone to someone else............lol im gonna get some feed back on that sentence tomorrow probably......lol.

Re: Texas Freestyle Comp. What if?

Oh yeah when i say team freestyle i mean TEAM no individual pros getting together and makin up a team just so they can try and take home all the money. It has to be a group of guys,or girls that live near each other ,that ride as an official team.Allowing that kinda crap causes too much BS.I just want this sport to succeed and i think the only way that is gonna happen is if the competitions were just staight to the point , and the judging is done right.I havent seen a comp. yet where the judges were 100% right.

I want to put on an event that everyone is happy with , if i decide to do it. Then im gonna need some help getting big money sponsors for the event , cause i would want it to be one of the biggest pay outs ever so that people will come back next year.I dont want it to turn out like LSBB and be all unorganised and have crappy judging.Like i said before i only want to have 2 events, individual freestyle and team freestyle , that way the pay out wont be spread out so thin and the winners can go home with more than a trophy and gas money. Also i dont want it to be tournament style , no eliminations, you go out do your thing and get scored on style, execution, and overall performance,i.e. how you put your run together. It wont matter who you are everyone will be judged only on their peformance.Jo schmo could win it if hes good enough.
If i am able to put this thing on i would want it to be around sept or oct. this year, when its nice and cool, i sweated my *** of at LSBB.

9000 sounds pretty good....how did you spread it out 1st 2nd 3rd in each event? how much for each position.Im not lookin to make money off the event
i just want to help the sport grow and give all the stunters that feel the same way something to look forward to each year.Ive been doin shows and stuff for 2years now and haven't made enough money at it to pay for all the gas ive used. I think if we are able to put this thing on it will help spread the word and make the general public realize our worth.

Re: Texas Freestyle Comp. What if?

If you bring out a comp. riders will show. The big thing would be getting paying customers to show. I know a group

that could and would host such an event. This would be a plus because they not only have much experience hosting events, but would also provide bands, crowds, and security/legal stuff. If you are interested in really really really putting on an event let me/them know. Ive asked for this for along time now, but I need more than just me to pursued them into getting it started. If we start it now, October would be a likely date. Check out that site for more info on what they have done in the past and what they are doing in the near future.

Re: Texas Freestyle Comp. What if?

Dang yall had alot of different events, and the payoff were fair for the number of events. Thats kinda why i would like to have only 2events ,one reason its less complicated and hectic, and two the payouts for 1st through 3rd could all be in the 1000s.and like 4th through say 10 could be in the hundreds. Also the fact that its freestyle you can roll long endoes if that you stronge point, and work it in to your routine. Freestyle gives every one the chance to show all theirs strong points and none of their weaknesses, its all up to them what they want to do.That way its possible for someone to win that cant do long endos,or slow stuff, or acrobatics. As long as they can go out and execute what they can do flawlessly and put it all together in a professional way then they have the chance to win.Well i think we could put somthin together so im gonna talk to the track owner and see where he stands on everything and if we can reach an agreement i think ill go ahead get the ball rollin. I would appreciate any outside help if anyone wants to pitch in and make this happen.

Yeah but i think it would be best to have the acutual comp in the pit are behind the dragstip instead on on it.....cause you and i both know what can happen on VHT. the area from the begining of the track on back is like atleast a half mile long and 100or so ft. wide of smooth clean asphalt.

That's what I thought too when I made our payouts. Over $11k, and tons of hookups from our sponsors, paid out to the top 15 riders. I thought that more riders would have shown up.

Well if we can get enough big sponsors to put up the money to cover the payouts. Then would it really matter if alot of riders competed. As long as you make enough from spectators and entry fees to cover expenses for track use and security and ambulance.Id be happy with that im not looking to make money off of this although i could really use it.I just want to give stunters a reason to keep on keepin on and help out the sport. Ofcouse if my team cant compete we may have to dip into the funds alittle......lol.It would probably be for the best if we didnt compete i wouldnt want us to win all the money and send everyone home broke.......LOL J/K.

The pit area would definitely be better. That VHT is garbage.
