Point is there are alot of "stuntaz" showing up to support these type of events, pay there $$ to get in..But they dont want to compete and def dont want to stand around the entire day and watch...Why would I drive 8 hours to an event, lose an entire weekend of practice just to go and watch some stuntz ? I would much prefer to support the event, drive down, pay my $$, watch here and there and get some practice in.....To me that is a great day..
If the slow area got to congested thereby not allowing some of the competitors ample time to get "warmed up" then by all means they should get priority..Or maybe some varying time schedule for open and competitor sessions thru out the day might work...
I thought the StuntFest slow section was great...Seemed like it catered to both requirements...

not to offend u smurf.....but u are just the guy who should be paying to compete and competing........u may think "theres no way im gonna win why waste the money". but that exactly why u should compete.........u could be the sickest unknown rider out ther......**** ui could be the sickest rider out ther........but if u have no comp experience in front of 1000's of people u will not hit yer tricks! pont blank! ive seen it time and time again.......plus what better way to support the riders who make the sport than to ride with them!

Hey man no offence taken but here's the deal..
I consider myself an average stunt guy..who sole purpose in this wonderful stunt game is fun...thats it..I am 34..have a decent career...family..but I just happened to be hooked on this stuff...My skillz while improving considerably...are average at best and to me that is fine..My idea of the perfect weekend is hooking up with a bud and heading to the spot to practice for half the day...As you can imagine up here you gotta get the most of the weather...so every weekend you try and get out a bit...
For me it has nothing to do with " I wont win so why compete "..Its just that StuntFest allowed me to bring my bike with me, support the cause, spectate as well as get some practice in with riderz that are 18 levels and beyond, all for the low low price of an 8 hour trip and a hotel room. It was great to be a part of that..All that without the need to get all serious and compete...The entire trip was well worth it...
I was hoping that this would be the same format which is why I asked...
What it really comes down to is practice time...Yeah I luv to watch, but it is no substitute for seat time...and if what I am hearing is you have to compete in order to practice well I would sooner save the $$ of the trip and head out to our spot up here..b/c competing is not something that interests me at this point in time....
Cheers

I know if I come all the way there I want to be able to ride even if I am not competing.. I am not at a competiton Level yet... But I would like to learn from people who I respect and just have fun. I dont think sitting around in the stands all day is fun.. Im not a Groupie... I wanna ride... There are a alot of people I wanna talk to and get a chance to ride with and see what's up..
Dont Get me wrong I can do wheelies, endos, sketch, and a few other things but if I am in someones way I will get out of there way!!!
I just want to ride!!!

I think im ready to compete in the am contest but honestly what would it take to be respectable. I have never been to an event so i have nothing to go off. Im about 85% positive ill be there but we will see. I also agree it has to bee a lot more stressful with everyone watching.
Re: INFO Stuntlife's Freestyleshootout II
last year, I believed we had people practicing and not competing, wasnt any problems with it, just have to pay, and get a wrist band to practice. Practice area will open all day long, both days, not to mention the whole track is open for an hour before qualifying begins.
Any body know of any campgrounds close to the track for people?

Re: INFO Stuntlife's Freestyleshootout II
Stuntfest did have a great set up but there were a few poeple in the practice area that did not belong there. I was almost hit twice by people skiding there bikes too close to were spectators were standing, and saw a few guys that couldn't even launch their wheelies with control, not saying you guys need babysitters but there should be some kind of a limit on who is let into the practice areas
Droptop, I can't belive that you would put yourself in this situation.
