04 R1-Good Wheelie bike?????????

I was just wondering if anyone wheelies an 04 R1. If so, what is working for you. Since this bike is not as strong at the bottom I am having some trouble getting mine to stand up and stay up All opinions welcomed

i like the way you think man. people here give you **** sometimes for saying stuff like this, but you are right. a few wheelies are one thing, but its horrible to beat the living crap out of a brand new bike. if i get the bike im shooting for, im going to baby it like crazy.

Re: 04 R1-Good Wheelie bike?????????

bro its really simple..honestly...the bike is a little groggy till 10-15MPH..get to about 25 u'll be at about 5-6rpm close the throttle then slam it open after shock is done compressing..do this sitting of coarse//no need to lean or tug on the bars..do it a few times exactlyl like that and u'll see..in 2nd get to about 50mph again at about 5-6rpm stand shut the throttle and repeat the process just when u open it back up start leaning back..biggest prob is ppl lean forward as first...

R1 is more peaky and is gonna be harder to get up in lower revs and may run outta gear easily

They new R1's are hard work to wheelie (well compared to my K3) you have to have the revs up above 8grand unless you like using the clutch.
