2003-04 GSXR OWNERS/STUNTERS pLEASE READ

I have a friend that stunts a 1998 gsxr 750 and has a 2003 gsxr 1000 that he uses for just a road bike a little wheelie and stoppie action. The bike has never been wrecked. Today we where stuntin at the local spot and he came rollin in on the 1000 and yanked a stoppie. Got it up to the balance point then the wheel buckeled and the spockes clapsed causing him to flip and get f-up. Did not hit any pot holes or nothin the outer rim is straight as an arrow and the tire has air. The wheel broke all 3 spokes at the little hole they have in it. The bike is going to the suzuki dealer tommorow to be looked at for a bad wheel. Has any one else ever had a problem like this. Just trying to see if any one else ever heard or had this happen any help would be app.

Did he get headshake??? If so that was the problem...not the wheel.

Theres no point in going to court......dude was doing a stoppie.....that will never hold up in court.

Your friend did a trick...crashed, and now you want to blame the manufacturer. Thats retarded.

Suzuki was making motorcycles way before your friend decided to pull a stoppie. I doubt it was a result of faulty equipment.

hey man... i'm not tryin' to jump on your nuts but you can be assured that the wheel is probably not at fault.... i've only ever seen one wheel get trashed like you are talkin' about and it was because there was a very minor fracture around one of the vent holes, that suzuki DID NOT take responsibility for.... wheels crack/break/bend just from hittin' a pothole sometimes.... how can you be 100% positive the wheel was strait as an arrow? did you personally mount and balance the tire minutes before he took the bike and did a stoppie? i'm bettin' he ran over something or hit a pothole sometime before and doesn't remember it.... or he could have had a little bit of head shake and put too much sideways stress on the wheel.... don't get heated because someone here flamed you about takin' suzuki to court, 'cause you won't win that one.... just my

and trust my i'm not a little punk who don't know what i'm talkin' 'bout.... 13 gixxers since 1986 and racing on the tracks since 1988....

never heard of the spokes fuking up before, maybe he slamed a few wheelies down before and that weakened them but if Suzuki is taking care of them that's cool, I HIGHLY DOUBT HE'D BE DUMB ENOUGH TO SHOW UP AND SAY HE WAS DOING A STOPPIE, he can just say he was doing regular breaking and the **** fuked up, this site is going to **** thanks to stupid mutherfuking replies like the ones above, what was so hard to answer the way I did??

Some of you guys crack me up.. ya need to ease up fellas. Stop taking SL so seriously. You can't even make a joke on this bitch without people flippin out and acting like some 12 year old nerdy bitches.

Here is the deal. If the dealership fixes it, good for you. If they don't, be a man and fix it yourself and don't bitch because you know you were beating on it by stunting on it. Since the bike is an 03 they will probably fix it. If it were my shop and the bike had more than a thousand miles on it I'd tell you to jump off a bridge. Wheels just don't break like that unless you beat on em. If it was faulty from the factory it would have broken right off the bat.

"If it was faulty from the factory it would have broken right off the bat."

Not necessarily. That's generilizing, and it's just as bad as assuming you can sue Suzuki. I know someone that had a problem with their '02 600. I'm not saying much cause they ARE going to court, but basically, the thing exploded. The engine blew the crankshaft out the side. He was switching from first to second gear, pulled in the clutch like normal, the rev's jumped, clutch disengaged with him still holding the lever, bike stood up and exploded right as the tail hit the ground.

HE WAS NOT SPEEDING, DOING WHEELIES (on purpose, but the bike sure stood up when the clutch fried...or whatever happened to it) OR ANYTHING ELSE!!!! He was leaving a buddies house, pulled out of the driveway, pulled in the clutch, bike stood up, then blew up. There are many witnesses that saw it happen, most of them are neighbors with no reason to be impartial, and they all told the cops they saw it but didn't know WTF happened, that it wasn't his fault, and several made it a point to say he was definatley not speeding or stunting. He almost lost his left leg over this, and he had the bike almost a year. So, looks like it didn't happen immediatley. And this kid not only wasn't doing stunts at the time, but he didn't do them period. And he rode his bike like my grandma drives her car, so please don't get stupid and try to say "he must have done this or that!!!!" because he didn't, just rode.

Re: 2003-04 GSXR OWNERS/STUNTERS pLEASE READ

true, but thats obviously a defect. we're looking at a guy that admits to stressing the bike, than bitching when it breaks

We are think of taking this to court against suzuki.
thats like suing Remington when a murderer shoots someone

Before you show the bike in court with the broken wheel, be sure to take the frame sliders, crash cage and any twelve bar you may have installed.....

Re: 2003-04 GSXR OWNERS/STUNTERS pLEASE READ

see you guy dont read the bike was no a stunt bike no crash cage no 12 bar and if you people where a well rounded rider in road racing opr if you really push the bike into the corner what it is made for the reatr wheel comes of the ground. See it all the time every weekend. The wheel wasant in any condition that it wouldn't be in if it was in a race or under extreme hard riding. Sorry but no matter what unless the bike is tossed or you hit something the wheel should not break on you.
