Whats the better thing to do, 12 without a bar first to get the feel for it or just buy one/make one then try it?

 

plastic gives a lot more than a bar will. the first couple of times u scrape will be hard so ur less likely to crash if u scrape tail first

 

I learned with a bar, first couple of times I scraped I set it really soft, I think it just depends on the person . . .

 

Learn how to ride a slow 12 first...then it does'nt matter if u put a bar on or not.

 

id say if your going to take the time to learn 12 then your going to eventually need a 12 bar so then u might as wellk get one and learn with one.

the way i learned the first few times i hit the bar i just planted it on it and stayed on it. i never learned the scrape technique until later...
everyone learns different though.

I hit my tail the first couple of times and destroyed my tail and I dropped it everytime. If you want to keep at least your tail in one piece then get a bar. If you dont care then go without. I just wish I had got a bar first, now when I hit the bar I don't wreck.

 

i started learning with a bar. the main big difference is when the bar hits a corner it can make you spin into what we like to call the Tornado. Yea your buck gets ****ed up. Or if you hit smooth the bar is fast and feels like your picking up speed.

either way, just take your time...i rushed it at first and crashed like crazy.

learn the brake and you will be fine.

 

Way better to learn with the bar. The bar is a garauntee the tail will crumble.

Plan to break subframe tabs and other components.

 

the first few times i did it was without a bar then i got a bar so it is up to the rider
