Free Stunt Tires for Stuntlife members

:YEAH I have 4 Michelin 120/60/17 Front slicks that I'm giving to members of this board. They are great stunt tire (Not street tires). The Rubber is thicker than your standard street tire so they will last longer. Please-one per member. All that I'm asking is $20.00 for shipping. Email me at Gixx1300R@aol.com
:YEAH

It's evident that you have no knowledge about modern day Sportbike tire technology. Most Street compound tires are the same composition as race slicks. The only difference is grooves that have been cut into the tires for street use.
Dunlop 208GPA
Metzler Rennsport
Michelin Pilot H2
PirelliSupercorsa S2
Are all based on Race Slick specs. I have used Durometers on all of the tires that I sell to ensure a level of quality.

Re: Free Stunt Tires for Stuntlife members

bro i'm not saying your wrong, i just dont think that they would heat up enough with the kind of stop and go rideing most stuntriders do. Just my 2 cents, but i'm prob wrong.

Re: Free Stunt Tires for Stuntlife members

Tons of peeps I know run Metzler Rennsports which are basically race take offs and have never had probs. Personally I like Pilot sport for the front but you got a good deal, $20 bucks why not.

Never skimp on the front.. the back.. **** thats another story..

exactly.

i could also be wrong because I don't know anything about race tires besides what I have read but I was under the impression that it takes a lot of heat to get slicks and race compound tires to heat up. if that is true then they are BAD NEWS for a stunter because obviously you can't heat up a front tire riding around a parking lot. like i said though i have never ran these tires though and gixx1300r probably has

Re: Free Stunt Tires for Stuntlife members

by heat up most magazines etc mean like REALLY hot to handle 120mph kneedraggin corners (sorry I dont know the exact temp). I doubt most stunters ever get their tires up to race temp, Im guessing this cause I never see tire warmers @ events, parking lots, runways etc. Good luck with the tire sales gixx!

i would think that screaming in to a long rolling stoppie would require as much traction as dragging knee around a corner

Im just thinking out loud here but, stoppies only require the initial bite, then its all good, like a wheelie. Going into a turn at 120mph while braking and then acceleration hard out while dragging knee might require more traction for a longer period of time. Just a thought though...

yep definetly true, but if you don't have that initial stickiness you're gonna end up on your *** really quick. i dunno i guess we are all just going back and forth with the what if's but I'm not gonna be the one to test them out and see how well they work but I'd like someone else to and report back

I think everyone is overlooking the fact that this guy is trying to do a nice thing...and GIVE away these tires. Don't like em, don't ask for them. But for those who can not easily afford nice tires(lots of broke young guns on these forums), it's actually a pretty nice thing.

Exercise extreme caution when doing indos on those and you'll be A-OK!

Pea's Out!

definetly VERY cool of him, didn't mean to flame him by any means just making sure everyone considers the risk of running these tires and not just say **** it cause they are free.

Re: Free Stunt Tires for Stuntlife members

i agree, it's a very nice gesture and those tires are super sticky - we get 3 local bike shops to gives us tiress - and also guys who do track days to give us their race slicks - first endo of the day sticks like nuts- 2 guys in the group rock them for shows and never have a problem heating them up or sticking - just my

Re: Free Stunt Tires for Stuntlife members

Guys, these are stunt tires. Not for riding on the street. There are no grooves to displace water. I wont go into the technical aspect of Race based tires. The post would be too long.Let me just say that I know a hell of alot about tires. I have read much misinformation in magazines about all brands. Heating tires is to achieve maximium grip. That is why Dragracers heat the tires (to clean off the tires and get grip). Road racers heat'em and scrub them for the same reason. Tire warmers can get tires up to about 100-170 degrees (heat soaking is the key). Road race tires havemore grip leaned over than they do in an upright position. That is because more lateral force is applied in at a given angle during the Gyroscopic effect. Have you guys noticed that Highsiding has almost totally gone away in Road racing? Tire maker figured tires need more grip in the sides. The composition has also changed. No more letting go and them gripping.
There is no street tire that will ever grip as well as a slick. The Slick has more contact patch (that is why they dont have grooves). Grooves are in tires for only one reason,to displace water. You could run slicks on the street if it never rained. If you have ever seen a Road race rain tire then you would understand. I have hand grooved slicks for a couple of stunt riders but I explained the risk. They ove then and have never had a problem with traction in the dry or rain. Here is a pic.
