My Jason Britton Story !!
Re: My Jason Britton Story !!
Hey everyone, well it is definately good to hear that people out there in the stunt world support eachother there is lot's of bickering on SL sometimes but I think it's because there are too many mind's that think alike I mean we do all love to stunt and at the end of the day that's what really matter's
as far as pro rider's go I think everyone out there atleast that I have met is pretty cool, keep in mind the surrounding's when you meet them of course, it may be at a show or dealing with a potential sponsor, etc
anyway the one thing to remember atleast about me is "I'm just an average guy with a little above average talent"

I thought nothing of it...Sometimes my attempts at humour dont make it thru the old web filter....
Fast Forward to the Xtremmy's award thread where my first post stated to be careful what you say about JB as "he will put you on blast" and the thread continued. Then some replies came back really questioning Jason's style etc etc talking **** about the way he rides looks to much like work.....blah blah blah
I thought that was a pretty cheap shot as to me (average stunt guy) I can appreciate what any of these guys have gone thru to get to the point of where there skillz are at....So I replied simply stating that SIU2, Way of Life and Get on up are constantly in my DVD player....The are my top 3.
So today I get a PM from Jason, basically saying that he doesnt know me and that he usually gets along with most people and offered an apology if he had offended me in any way...Of course I replied its all good, congrats on the front cover of SSB and good luck with the career..I also told him the beers were on me should he find himself in Ottawa Canada....and gave him my contact info....
2 hours later Jason gives me a call at home...and man we shoot the **** for about 1/2 hr.. Discussing everything from family to bikes, the stunt scene in Ottawa, the whole business side of stunting..you name it...Gave me some solid stunt advice and talked a little about his setup on his bikes...It was like I was talking to an old bud...He offered to send me his new DVD and a few decals for the crew..All in all it was a real positive experience.....
So why did I post this ? Well to be honest I surf StuntLife so much and usually there is so much drama going down that you sometimes fall into it yourself...We tend to forget how much is really lost in translation over the wire....At first I thought I would keep this to myself but in this day and age it is often to easy to talk about the bad. So I thought I would share this experience with you guys....
Oh and Jason, like I said man theres a busted azz gixxer1 with your name on it should you ever find yourself in Ottawa..She aint pretty but its def stunt worthy...lol
That was a quality move man.....nuff respect !!
Cheers
Dave

Ive met alot of the stunters out there and I ahve to say one of the nicest guys i EVER talked to was Matt Gorka. I met him at stuntwars and a mutual friend from minnesota said to tell him hi so I introduced my self and we talked for a few minutes. I PM'd him and by the next day he Pm'd me back giving me pointers on doing stoppies and trying to help me out. I thought that was one of the coolest things ever. Ive pm'd a few other people, not to mention names but they dont wanan gove ya the time a day. So
to the positive Role Models we have in out sport.

Re: My Jason Britton Story !!
That cool when the guys that you look up to are cool in real life. It sucks when the people hit a certian point in the careers and feel its almost a burden to even talk to you. I know at times it could probabley get annoying answering the same questions like how do you do this and that but that comes with the territory. I think is cool when people dont forget where they came from or how they started out.
