wearing pads/armor?
Thought i'd start a thread on padding/armor. What do all you prefer? I haven't found any yet, Teach seems like he's got some good stuff from his sponser. I looked into that whole market, it seems like there's a lot out there for mx and downhill racing. I came across this...

its seems like it might do the trick. I haven't been down hard enough to tell if the padding would help, or even stand up to the pavement. What do you think?
**$Hit... someone want to move this to stunt disscusion?

Re: wearing pads/armor?
Maybe you should start a thread, to find out what kind of injuries stunters get from looping, sideways/wobbles, stoppie flips etc. Then we would know what type of armour we should be wearing.
I use skateboard pads under loose fit gear, but the injuries I've had are left elbow smash (looped wheelie) also scraped my lower back on that one.
I got a shin gouge from footpeg -a burnout when the front wheel pushed sideways. I managed to grind my fingernails off when landing a roadlump jump in a stoppie and the front washed out, my hand was trapped under the clutch lever.
So armour I wear is shin protectors (BMX stuff is great) and elbow pads. Plus good gloves. I think that falling is such random **** that you'll always hurt a different bit.

those fox knee pads fall apart kinda easy, but they are nice...
all those armour jackets are great, but why not just wear a regular leather jacket with armour in it???
check this out...motophoria makes sick jackets with customized CE armour, but better yet, they give you the armour WITHOUT the heat-perfect summertime stunting gear...
i'm rocking this stuff this summer and i know my boy G-Nice wears his during the summer months too...lemme know if you need anything...

look closely, the manequin body is black so it kinda blends in...

Teach, is there anyone local stocking the motophoria gear..? How have those pads held up to the pavement when worn alone?

Re: wearing pads/armor?
I got one about 2 weeks ago. Looks alot like some of the others listed above. So far seems decent, alot of plastic but should hold up alright.
They have a couple different versions or just back protectors and they are listed on Ebay. http://stores.ebay.com/vdiscount_W0Q...QsclZallQQtZkm
Oh and compared to some of the other prices I have seen the one pictured below was $100, like $115 shipped to my door. Not bad IMO.

Re: wearing pads/armor?
motophoria stuff is top notch, imo better quality than vanson...i've own both jackets. motophoria does not skimp and they are designed by racers for racers. this is a street gear that has the same quality...
i know chip has a store in loudon, almost right across from the track...
hit me up on pms. i'm heading up there next week i think...

that's wicked that they made that. it's an exact copy of a design that Dainese made a few years ago. i paid $400 freakin dollars for it. i love it, though to be totally honest i only wear it when doing city riding. no highway or high speed stuff, cause i don't think it'll hold up at speed. best part is the removable zip out back protector that you can wear under your leather jacket when it gets cooler.
Re: wearing pads/armor?
I wear a pair of FOX knee/shin guards. Just the basic ones($29.99 CDN), no facny lookin plastic crap..... I lost the front tire on an endo, and saved it, however I banged my knee HARD against my fairing mount(rigid steel) It cut me pretty good, and had me off of the bike for a couple of days. I like the feel of the pads on too, it keeps my jeans from whippin around on the highway.
As for a jacket, I wear a textile Alpinestars, with just the back armour in it.

Have a look at http://www.dragginjeans.com.au, these guys will put extra kevlar in if needed too, I wear draggins with AXO knee guards and a Dainese Armour suit simalar to the one above. goes good in summer.
