I try to wear it all the time but these last few days been like 90, didn't even wear shirt last time we went out and practiced. Just rollin slow stuff though. if I start rollin stoppies or tring costers I'd throw on my jacket or tring to learn something new. Road Rash sucks I've had to much of that ****.

I live in South Florida where it is hot & humid as hell almost year round. Even in this climate I wear LEATHER 100%, 100%, 100% of the time. Feels disgusting when you take it off at your destination, but I feel naked w/o it. I just recently got a perforated TEKNIK, and am AMAZED at how effective it is at cooling me down. Doesn't feel as durable, but it's still leather.
I was wearing textile Joe Rocket in late 2000, but committed to leather after this happened right through it...

Well, my brother low-sided my bike....thanks bro....the other day. He killed my helmet, and got tons of road rash, it looks like he's wearing a flannel shirt. If he had been wearing my jacket too, he would have gotten off with skinned knuckles, and a tiny spot of rash on his right knee. I wear it any time I plan on going above 25 mph. Even here in hot *** Az.

I almost always wear the leather Jacket, road rash definately sucks. Some of the most painful chit i've been through. Unless i'm out with the girl... then maybe i'll take it easy and not wear one. But otherwise i feel naked w/out it.

This is a good post... i've been looking into getting a new textile/mesh jacket for summer riding, any more storys on what not to get?
Re: jacket or not?...
I went down in a Joe Rocket Phoenix jacket, and I really didnt think it would do much but it helped a lot! The only place I got road rash was on my hand because I was a dumb *** and not wearing my gloves errr.
Re: jacket or not?...
Oh yeah, Jackets are important, but gloves are almost as important, cause when i dumped i had no problem rolling at all, but when u stop rolling for the last ten feet of ur slide u try to make ur self keep rolling with ur hands and then wham, u tear the **** outta ur palms and u let ur self slide, if i had my gloves on i wouldn't of hand any rash except when i hit the ground right before i started rolling n thats fine im not affraid of alittle battle scar right, and i only suggest gloves if ur stunting under 40mph.. but yeah sweating is way better then bleeding!, now if u know how to tella-port n ****, u don't need leather, because u can tella-port ur *** right out of a crash and be safe but ur bike may get alittle beat up.. ima go practice tellaporting out of crash's, wish me luck
