I found a great deal on an f4i that has a salvage rebuilt title.... is this bike insurable in Illinois? Anyone have any experience with buying this kind of titled bike?

 

yes it is insureable...but you only get like 70% of the book value if you make a claim on it...like if it got stolen or something....just had this happen, bike got stolen and i found out that it was salvage (even though i bougyht it as a clean title), only got 70% of book value bacak, sucks but whatever

OK Teach, I got one for ya, How and can I rebuild a title? I bought a 2001 929 from a dealer with no title, he gave me a bill of sale that states that the bike was sold as salvage, He told me that the insurance company had totaled it out but he had no paper work on the bike. The only thing wrong with it was the subframe was tweaked and the some of the fairings were broke. The frame does not have a scratch on it. Oh yea, he sold it to me for $500 and it runs perfect!
