I was at Mellens house today..........he couldnt figure it out. We got the dust cover off and the c clip.......It looks like one of the o-rings is shot. I'm gonna get the kit and hook it up with some heavier oil.

no no, it's heavy, if i have it off the bike on the stiffest setting, i can't even move it. but on the bike, i can giggle it back and forth hard and the clip ons move like an inch....it takes effort but not anything i wouldn't think a heavy tank slapper could do to it.

Re: Toby Damper Problems

Is it the stock oil? If not use a heavier oil and make sure you get all of the air out. This should eliminate the play.

Re: Toby Damper Problems

My Toby dampner broke @ the bracket that holds the shock to the triple tree. The circle bracket that you bolt to the arm that is underneathe the triple tree bolt. The whole thing slid off, with the bolt still there. I need to get pics up, its hard to explain.

ya, i don't get headshake with it doing stoppies, but i think i'm going to rebuild it anyways just in case.

and ryan, i know what you are talking about. did the pin that aligns it get broke off? if it did you can just drill a hole and put a screw in it and use that for a pin. i'm not sure exactly how the mount is for gixxers but for 929's it just has a pin that aligns it and holds it side to side on the triple.
