yamaha tank

hey is it just me or do yall think the yamaha tanks are hard as hell to dent in. i dont wanna use a rubber mallet because then it just makes a bunch of small dents and usually leads to leaking. i swear i did like atleast 15 crossovers yesterday and the tank still didn't dent in. i dont like the feeling of this high tank, but anybody have some advice?

They are very hard to dent, I'v been sitting on the tank all last season and not a scratch. It also hurts your a$$ because its not flat like the Suzuki's. thats why i just bought a dented one off of Erick here on the forum. He did a nice job on his using a rubber mallet, but I think he said the paint started to chip off. Good luck, I'm sure he could give you some advice if you get in contact with him :D

tank

my tank was pretty easy to dent in, and came out real nice. just hit it like you dont care i guess, i used a dolly and a bal-peen hammer. came out real nice.a rubber mallet might be alittle tough, at least try a dead-blow hammer or something harder.

They are VERY HARD ot dent ... I used a piece of 2x4 and just hammered it down. I jumped on my tank with my boots on and barely dented it ... use the wood .. it helps ....
