Forks from almost any honda sportbike (without inverted forks) will fit in the triples. I tried F2 forks in my F3 once. The only problem was that the calipers rubbed since the f3 wheel has bigger rotors.

Re: F2/F3 hybrids? front forks?

MikeM is wrong by saying that any Honda non inverted fork will work. 900rr's are 45mm like the 600rr's. 929, 954, and the F4, F4i are 43mm. Not just any non inverted fork will fit the F2/F3. It takes a 41mm non inverted fork. The only other ones that I know of are the Night Hawk and the Suzuki SV650, neither of which I would consider an upgrade. However you can switch the whole front end triples and all. You can use the 900rr, 929, 954. At StuntWars I saw an new R6 on the front end of an F3. There are many options when you switch the triples. To me all those are a direct bolt on....I am not sure what you would consider a direct bolt on though.

Re: F2/F3 hybrids? front forks?

my question is, does the steering stem for the r6, 900, 929, 954 fit in the f3 steering neck? Do you just need to get the steering head bearings for the front end you're putting on to make it fit?

Re: F2/F3 hybrids? front forks?

2002 GSXR 750 triple (it's the right width for the calipers/rotors to match up), 97 GSXR 750 forks, Renthal fat-bars (I made the bike for my bro out of my old stunt bike) It's not exactly a direct bolt on... you need to make a spacer above under the top triple (or use a large washer) and then you have to make caliper extensions and use a 900rr axil with custom fittings, but it's not impossible, and the improvements are worth it.
I did id cuz I trashed the stock forks when I looped the bike...

or do the smart thing and just use a GSXR wheel and brakes

ya, if you are going to drop the money on all that **** might as well use all the stuff and get hte better front brakes. lets see, 4 piston verses non-floating disks with 2 piston calipers.

also, if you just wasted the forks, why not just buy another set. i just put a new set on my sis's bike for 80$ and a triple for 75$.

and yes, on an f2, you can use f2 forks or you can use f3 forks, but if you use f3 forks you have to use the f3 front wheel and calipers because the f3 has floating disks and no speedo on the wheel.

The 94 f2 fork is a major upgrade over earlier f2s . it's 41 mm with adjustable spring preload and rebound dampering. older f2s only have compression adjustments.

hmm....i know they changed the forks on f3's to fully adjustable. all f2's should be the same though. bikebandit has f3 forks listed on the 94's on their parts page though.....it says "f3 fork" in the 94's....but they haven't even designed the f3's in 94 so who knows. That's kinda odd too because the 94 still has a speedo on the wheel, so the left fork has to be different, it has to have the notch for the speedo.

Re: F2/F3 hybrids? front forks?

all honda streetbikes use the same steering neck, stem, and bearings. you could put an rc 51 front end on a 89 hurricane 1000 if you wanted. until they updated the 954 bearings to a tapered style but im sure you could make it work. not sure about the o4 rr's though
