Crunch N' Munch
Crunch N' Munch
Seeing as we have a variety of skill levels here and riders that range from competition stunters to 1st year riders, I'm curious... How often do you drop your bike?
Now I'm not a pro stunter, I'd say my skill level is roughly somewhere slighlty less than the skill level of FTP 2. I've been learning very slowly, I started stunting when I saw Rothwell's first video for the first time back in '93. I haven't dropped a bike (moving) since 93. * Knocks on wood vigorously *. I have had a tip over or two in that time where because I'm small (5'6" 140lbs) the bike has gotten away from me. I'm lucky though and like I said I take my time learning because I don't want to wad my baby. So I'd say I crash once every couple of years. Again, there are many on this site that let it all hang out to be the best and I would imagine that those of you who fall into that category, wreck pretty often in an effort to learn very quickly. (Props to your ballzy asses!)

When my bike was nice I'd take it easy, learn slowly, and never drop it. One day I lowsided in some twisties and messed up all my plastics and more, now I drop it almost every time I practice.
Last Year
I got into stunting last year, and like MikeM I loved my bike so I took it easy. Now I bought some cracked plastics off of a buddy of mine who races, getting a used tank, some frame sliders, painting her black and learning as much as I can this summer. If it goes down, I'll just have to fix it. I figure it's the only way to learn.
IM no pro but I drop mine about 2 or 3 times at least every time I go out. Usually trying something new or pushing it a little more than usual. Nothing to serious though.
180 stoppies are beating my ***.

Yeah, those 180 stoppies are a bitch. I finally nailed one perfect and was all pumped up and flipped a highchair stoppie at about 40 or so. That was my only real wreck. But, I have dropped it a dozen times learning 180's. I'm no pro either. I can do everything give or take a trick, that Brandon "Digidy" does in Urban Warriors.
Oh dont get me wrong, Im not saying I loop my **** everytime I go out. Usually just dont get a stoppie all the way around, or I accidentally hit my kill switch doing a high chair stoppie and tip over.LoL
I feel like an idiot when that happens but oh well.
