should i just buy a case of rear brake pads??
should i just buy a case of rear brake pads??
ok, now im learning the slow stuff and scraping, went out today, after about 2 hours, put up a real nice 12,.......no back brakes!!!! pulled it off with out crashing(havent been able to say that for awhile). pulled off to the side and looked at my brakes, almost non existant. i know you guys said once you learn the slow **** and 12's its hard on pads, but damn, they were a month old. guess i should just buy like 5 sets huh???
Re: should i just buy a case of rear brake pads??
Yo check your rotor...If it's grooved badly It will eat through pads like crazy. Try using as little amount of brake as possible. I had the same problem when I started.
Re: should i just buy a case of rear brake pads??
If u stunt hard 4-5 days a week you will use about 1 set a month depends on the brand.
If you dont stunt as hard brake pads will last anywhere from 3-6m.
It depends on your style of riding.

Re: should i just buy a case of rear brake pads??
i dont know, i'd learn to be smoother on the brakes. i don't go through rear brakes very fast at all. it took me almost a year to go through my first set of stock rear brake pads. i switched to ebc kevlar which is softer....i hear guys go through those fast and i'm not burning them up.
i also do crazy long coasters with them. just get smoother on the brake. rock your idle lower and you'll see what i mean, at 2k rpms, you can't be on the brakes very hard or it'll stall the bike....and that hurts.

****.. I've had the same pads in the rear of my 929 for a good 6 months now..... they're still fine
Re: should i just buy a case of rear brake pads??
bill i do the same thing
i am kinda in the same boat as you. just because we aren't all as good of stunters as binder where we can do coasters without ever using the back break, just gotta practice and learn to use less brake just like i'm trying to do

it takes time. start rocking low idle and you'll get really soft on the brake for fear of stalling the bike.
Re: should i just buy a case of rear brake pads??
i rock my **** at 2k idle and its stock
so i fuking kill it all the time
a slow wheelie to me is 15 mph
one of these days i'm gonna get gears. i finally got a new tire at least
hopefull within the month i will be outta debt and then i'll start buying some decent **** for my bike

i learned that months ago and i found i can afford **** better now. hell just a speeding ticket will pay for front/rear sprockets and a new o-ring chain.
Re: should i just buy a case of rear brake pads??
yeah, i have to work on everything about the slow stuff, ive been working on just keeping them high and trying to control wobble when i get it, this is one of those things im gonna have to work hard at to get. some **** just doesnt come easy to me, some does.no big deal, we have all the welders and anything else we need to keep putting my **** back together.

also, it just takes time, work on getting it up and not using the throttle, when you are twitchy on the throttle that's what causes side to side wobble. i have that problem on sitdowns. get it up, and get off the throttle completely, and just add a tiny bit as you need it.
Re: should i just buy a case of rear brake pads??
anyone could scrap ,it is a lot harder to rock slow ****,because you need to use more throttle & brake control .If you are trying to scrap 4 the 1 time for get about the bar, dont even go for it .Just try to slow down your 1 gear wheelies by droping your RPM down. You might even scrap without even trying to.

F.uck scraping? thats the dumbest thing ive ever heard. When you 1st started riding - touching the tail was the biggest mile stone ever. Bill Par is just gettin' his pimp game started w/ 12's. Granted - you should have control before you try & hit the tail - but don't say he shouldn't hit it @ all. **** can get wild in any trick - thats the fun of it. Can't say someone doesn't get impressed seeing you come in @ 50 mph on the bar throwin' mad sparks. If you worried about tricks getting wild, you should stop riding. Coasters - you can loose the brakes, you can brake a clutch cable. You can fall asleep any thing!
I know when i 1st started riding, i woudln't put a 12 bar on my bike till i could hit hte tail. then i didn't run one cause it makes the best noise ever when it hits.
Keep pimpin Bill. Scrape that bitch.
