no handers???

my boy does his no handers on his f4i w/ the throttle cable super tight making the throttle stick, so he just 'sets' it. in the videos and from other discussions i get the impression that its a high idle that keeps the bike up. he has an '01 f4i w/ 13 up in the back, idle screw set all the way up wont keep the bike up. is something wrong or is it just that the high idle only works w/ bigger bikes?

Re: no handers???

A guy I ride with has a 2001 F4i, its -2, +12, I rode it set the idle to 3500, after 15 min, I can do everything on it I can do on my gixxer, circles, no handers, ect. I even could rock 10mph seat standers, I cant do that on my gixxer! I just idled it down to 1200, and used throttle and engine brake to balance it out. I was about to try a high chair scrape w/o a hand brake, but I didn't want to crash, it wasn't my bike.

F4i's ROCK!!!!!!!!

Re: no handers???

I rock the 929 at 2 grand for everything slow. Twist rocks his f4i at 3 grand for all the slow stuff. Its all about brake control.

Re: no handers???

ya, you have to use the idle. it takes time and practice and a lot of brake control. i noticed on my 929 that it barely turned, and i thought it wouldn't turn up any further, but then i got a can of wd40 and followed my idle cable up to where the screw is and spray a bunch on it, then back it out and screw it in a bunch spraying the wd40 on it. that should loosen it up. after i did it mine was so silky smooth and easy to turn.

i put mine at 2000 rpm and that's all it takes.

hey ryan, you aren't using high idle for seat standers are you? if you are i'd think twice about that. you want idle as low as can be for slow gangstas/highchairs/seat standers so you can use engine brake to set the front down when you go too far back.

Re: no handers???

I put my r6 at 3600 or so and it's got stock gearing and i can rock idle all day... like it was said earlier in this thread, it's all about brake control...

Re: no handers???

well i really didnt get my question answered...well indirectly i guess i did
he rocks slow **** like anyone and has sick brake control. doin no handers already watchtowers circles and all that...
but hes convinced everyone does it w/ stuck throttle b/c he tries w/ his idle up to 4k and says it wont stay up, not that he cant keep it going.
like do you have to do it a certain way b/c hes high...for instance like giving it over rev(like how you set idle w/ choke) hmmmm prolly just needs more practice i guess

ok, no, we don't use some crazy locking the throttle thing or whatever. we all turn the idle screw up, i turn mine to 2000 rpms.

and don't use the choke, that will foul your plugs.

Re: no handers???

WD 40 on the idle cable huh? i gotta try that. I only rock like 2k rpm on my 929 for any no hander - but my cable sucks - ***** hard to turn

Re: no handers???

you got to take the spring off the idle adjustment screw that attaches to the throttle bodies, the idle wont go above 3500, take the screw out and it goes to about 4500 almost 5000

on a 929 or f4i? i've never done this on my 929 and i can get it up to 5500...i hate it that high, i rock 2k for no handers and slow stuff.

just used some wd40, worked it in and out a bunch of times and BLING, smooth as can be. mine wouldn't turn at all before then. i think that's common on 929's cause wiggin's 929 was the same way.

fuel injected bikes have a high idle, not a choke, and they will not foul the plugs.

you do'nt have to tell me. kid was bitching about someone not answering his question and he asked if you use choke, so i answered that question.

Nah, dude. I would never do seat standers, and stuff with a high idle. For circles and stuff @ 3500, for seat standers, and high chairs, 1100-1200.
I reread my 1st post, its kind of confusing the way I typed it.

1200- Gangsta spreaders/high chairs
3500- circles/no handers

Jay, I do have a 2001 929. But its mint, stock and everything. Too clean to mess up.
