which do you prefer: regular or rear peg standup?

I just wanted to know which you guys feel more comfortable doing...a regular standup or left foot on rear peg standup. I was practicing standups today and i sucked *** doing regular ones. I kept coming down hard..hand just doesnt feel comfortable on the throttle. So i've been doing the rear peg thing for hours. I can pull it up going 25-30mph then end up riding it at around 50-60mph...

btw, i still cant ride out a sitdown wheelie...got sick of sucking that bad at it so i tried standups yesterday(been doing sitdowns on/off for like 5-6months). Absolutely love standups wayyy better.

Stand ups are alot easier than sitdowns. Foot on the back peg is better too. Takes alot of weight off your arms. If you are tall or want it even better, move your rear peg back about 6"-8" on your subframe. It makes it way better for going long distance.

Re: which do you prefer: regular or rear peg standup?

Yea, thats y its so much easier with throttle. It does take off so much weight off my arms when doing it with the rear peg. I'm not too tall..5'10 so i think rear peg placement is fine so far...thanks for the input man.

I think once you get the ***** to standup and bring it up high enough, it is way more comfortable and easier to do than a sitdown.

Re: which do you prefer: regular or rear peg standup?

damn, I can do sit downs but can't for the life of me do stand ups... I have tried but havenm't been able to... I think the biggest prob is finding a long enough spot. Or I have to go waaaay out of town.... I am going to practice tomorow. I have tried the no clutch stnadup and love clutching the sit down.. Except for first. I do clutch first but usually just meesing around...

Re: which do you prefer: regular or rear peg standup?

i couldnt ever do standups either. Would try them every once in a while. They just scared the **** outta me. Recently i just got fed up with not being able to do a wheelie at all so i started trying standups with the rear peg. At first they were scary as ****..but once they came up to a decent height they felt good as ****. And today i tried them in 2nd gear going a little faster. I found it a lot easier to hold up and more comfortable. I clutch it too. I clutch everything. Starting to get a little better at my slow standup..just cant ever get high enough to not be accerating in first.

standup wheelies are simple once you find your comfort zone and balance point. personally i find that it's easier to have both feet on the rear pegs. BEWARE you cannot cover the break like this but with enough beer and confidence you should do fine. invest in good insurance and know your doctors well, and after all who doesn't enjoy a two week stay at the hospital.

Re: which do you prefer: regular or rear peg standup?

So far in my stunting career I can only do stand-ups, no clutch just bounce it up. I use the regular pegs. I was out the last 2 days trying to figure out how to use the clutch, I can do it on a quad like nothin now just gotta learn it on the bike.

Ride how you want dude, but personally you need to always cover the rear brake unless you doing spreaders or highchair stuff....

one foot rear peg ,right foot front peg the only thing that sucks is I practiced a long time and now my wrist and arms are killing me. do you have to use the brake to do a first gear bp wheelie?

Re: which do you prefer: regular or rear peg standup?

dude **** covering the brake!!!! put both feet on the rear pegs and see what comes about!!!! j/k don't do that!!!!! I do but that's why i limp when it's cold out! But........ it works real good! I had the hardest time getting up 3rd gear wheelies on my sv, then i said **** it and went for both feet on the rear pegs. awesome!!! first try rode that **** out! If you do try it *** soon as she comes up nice just move your right foot over to the brake. you'll have it in no time!
