little somthing for the 954/929 peeps
Re: little somthing for the 954/929 peeps
ya, seems good in theory. i'm keeping my power valve though. nobody has given significant proof that it helps the bike out. And no, it won't add horsepower because when you hammer on the throttle the valve opens up anyways, so it'd be just like normal, only it stays open the whole time so you would lose that low end torque that the valve creates but restricting the exhaust at low rpm. that's how honda has a smooth FI at low rpm.
and you won't need a power commander for it either because like i said, it doesn't add high flow, it only takes away the restriction at low rpm. once the valve opens about 2500 rpm it'll act the same as not even having the valve.....
and 929 guys, removing this valve doesn't help that funky idle problem on 929's.....i had a full system on my non-erion and it still had the funky idle.

not neccessarly, just to get "optimal" preformance. i just figured it would be cleaner for the people that wanna get rid of the valve.

taking the valve out just gets rid of the hesitation (imo) when slowing down a wheelie. It makes the bike smoother. up to 2700 the valve is at, lets say, 0 where it closes off 2 pipes for more back pressure. It then flips 90 degrees at 2700 rpm connecting the top and lower pipe of each side via a port. At about 7000 it flips 180 (or -90) to make a straight through for all 4 pipes. When slowing the bike down you hit 2700 and the valve flips 180 and it falls on its face for a moment.
KC50..Although I have'nt spent a lot of time on a 954 but I think they are smoother than the 929. Don't worry bout ur valve yet.

It's like a whole new bike with the valve out. I can't even ride a bike with it in. We've removed it for soo many people and not one person hasn't LOVED it
