Best Bike for Tall riders????
Best Bike for Tall riders????
Alright guys im new to street riding(used to ride
(dirt)) and have been saving up for a bike and im wondering what everyone thinks is the best bike for taller riders. My first thought was the r1 felt pretty good but the only thing was that i wanted to get a gsxr but it felt like my thighs were to high on the tank(i dont know if that because the gsxr have more of a racing seat position or what). How are the hondas and kaw????? Hoping to pick something up soon so i can get out there and ride, as im from the aurora area and the weather is turning nice again. Thnx Re: Best Bike for Tall riders????

I'm 6'5" and all bike are OK to me. You just have to get used to it. Like the others said just sit on all of them you can and see what feels good and what looks good to you. If you plan on stunting go with a Honda or Suzuki though. If you aren't into stunting(which I assume you are since you're here) get a Busa. You can ride those for days and still be comfy.

Im 6 foot 3 and my 900RR is one of the most comfortable bikes Ive ever ridden. My buddy has an F4i and it wasnt bad either. Go for what feels the best and keep in mind what your plans are for the bike (ie. stuntin it or just crusin). My roomate is 6'6" and rides a Gixxer 750, so whatever works you know?
Re: Best Bike for Tall riders????
Yeah the r1 felt nice when i sat on it because my legs actually fit under the tank, but ive hear that suzuki's have more of a racing position to them so i am not sure if thats why its not to comfortable to me right now because from my exp suzuki and honda have kick *** motors and ive never owned anything yamaha so i dont know much about them. Im prolly not looking to do major stunting but i would like to learn as i progress. Whats everyones take on the r1 who has one, reliability, power, balance,
Re: Best Bike for Tall riders????
Yeah but 6 1 and 6 6 is a big diff, im also hoping to be up to 245 this summer so im a big guy too. Am I right in saying that the gixxer puts you in more of a racing or lean position?

Re: Best Bike for Tall riders????
I've checked out some six hunreads at the dealer since I'm getting one come summer and IMHO the Yamaha R6 feels nice.. very comfortable as well as stylish which led me to choosing it as the one I want come summer.

Yeah im pretty sure jordan has a baby blue gsxr1000(03) from what ive read on the site. I dont know im gonna have to go check them all out again and see how they feel. Part of my problem is i love suzukis cause they make awesome motors and i think they are a solid bike all around, but im not lookin to seriously stunt(i say that know probablly like a lot of people have) so an r1 might do the trick.
Re: Best Bike for Tall riders????
I'm 6'5 almost 6'6 and I love my 03 750 gsxr I fit good on it. As for r6/r1 I feel like im riding a bmx bike the damn thing feels so small, its werid for me. Don't really like that feeling.
Re: Best Bike for Tall riders????
well im 6'4" and weigh 240, ive riden every bike there is pretty much, and GSXR 750 is the best, all out best, its not big and heavy like a 1000, but keeps up with them. as for feeling like its race positioned, that can all be adjusted, new bars will make it feel 100 times different. if your not looking to stunt too much, just ride it, nothing beats a gixxer, if you wanna start stunting, put a cage on it, and some bars and go with it, youll be glad you did. yamaha anything is big and slow and feels shitty to me, kawi is always gonna be super heavy, and hondas are made for kids, not men, ive been riding since i was five, so i hope that what i had to say has some validity to you

Love the suzukis!
