Engine Cage for SV650
Re: Engine Cage for SV650
unless u have fuul plastic u dont need a cage on a SV. The cage is there to save ur plastic and case covers. The v twin motor is so skinny the case covers wont get damaged if u have frame sliders
Re: Engine Cage for SV650
Sorry but I have to disagree with you here, you'r front plastics will get scratched if you drop your bike, even at slow speeds. However the back section does seem to be protected by the rear pegs.
There are also other things to worry about, when I was in Daytona I bent the hell out of my handle bars and broke the foot shitf lever off of my SVS, I know that these seem like trivial damages but you try to ride that thing back to the hotel w/o being able to shift properly, and I'm sure having to fix it would get old pretty fast.
I talked to David from Freestyle Inginuety about building a cage for my 03 SVS at first he said ok but then the next time I talked to him he said that only me and one other person wanted one, I'm assuming that's you, and that he could only do it if I took my bike to Texas to have it made. Fat chance, I live in Michigan.
However, there's also this guy that lives up here, not too far away from me that also makes cages, his SL name is Lou_Brakant. I was going to ask him to make me a cage but thought that it would be too expencive sence he would probably only be able to sell one. I'm willing to take him my bike to make the cage if we can get a decent price out of him for the 2 cages.
PM me.
