my bro needs help from the 900rr guys!

My buddy rides a 94 900rr. Everytime he try's to hit 12 o'clock, it starts pouring fuel out. He adjusted the floats and that doesnt seem to help. I told him to sell it and get a 929 like me (fuel injection is the way to go :YEAH ). but he likes the 900rr. so can you guys help use out.

only at 12....
where is it leaking from, top or bottom?
does it happen during stoppies too?
check your gas cap, clamps, and overflow tube....

first thing to check is all your hoses, make sure they are all there, and none of them have any cracks or anything in them. then check all the clamps. it sounds like either a hose is missing somewhere, or cracked. because if they are all on correctly, you shouldnt be getting any gas coming out. i guess i'm not exactly sure where you mean it is coming out of. hit me up on a PM, i'll help ya out best i can.

Re: my bro needs help from the 900rr guys!

THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE EVER REPLYED TO A FOREM.
BUT THE TOPIC COUGHT MY EYE MY 900RR HAS THE SAME PROBLEM ON HIGH WHEELES GAS POORS FROM MY OVER FLOW HOSE. I EXTENDED IT SO IT WOULD HANG OF THE BACK AND KEEP FROM GETING GAS ALL OVER MY BIKE AND PANTS. I WAN'T TO LEARN TO SCRAPE SO I SEE THIS AS A REAL PROBLEM.

ALSO HOW DO I EXTEND MY OIL PICK UP?
MY ENGINE HAS ALREADY HAD TO BE REBUILT.

its the over fill hose that runs from the cap(hole under cap twards seat)to the hose under the tank............we just plug the hose
make sure you got the right hose pour some gas down the overfill hole and see where it comes out

Re: my bro needs help from the 900rr guys!

mine stopped doing it wit a vortex cap, unless i yard sale it, then it still leaks out the overflow. mine is a 94 with a 95 motor so it is the same as your buddies. plugging the over flow will work too. it could be the over flow off the cabs, in wich case you might need to adjust your float level. if it is the over flow/vent off the carbs, make shure all your float valves are good, if on is bad it will pour gas out the vent in a wheelie.
