How to help the stunting BLOW UP!!!

Drifting... The SCCA is sanctioning a Drifting series. For you people that don't know what Drifting is; all it is, is rear wheel drive cars (mostly imports) going sideways around turns. Like all motor sports, when there not drifting nothing is going on. So while their not drifting why don't people stunt. I think Drifting is going to take off!!!

Re: How to help the stunting BLOW UP!!!

You know what pisses me off, I have been drifting since I was 15, it's all I used to do, got my scca road race license at 18 and used to go to the track all the time. I am the sideways master, I will drift anything. Now this drifting **** is taking off and I'm doing this bike thing. My friend has been throwing some drifting events and I have been to a few of them, there is footage in servin it up 2 from some events. I really dont think they can match the excitement level of our sport, the only reason that sport is taking off at the level it is, is because the automotive industry is so huge, everybody has a car and wants to trick it out, there's lots of wannabe's and a few good drivers. Once our sport goes mainstream and it will, it will be the biggest thing out, cars are easy to drive, everybody does it, it takes skill and lots of nuts to do the **** we do that's why it will get more respect.

When they aren't drifting have some people stunt. Pontiac is getting involved on the "ground floor" by hooking up some new GTOs

Re: How to help the stunting BLOW UP!!!

Drifting is the hottest growing automotive sport right now.

The Inaugural US D1 Grand Prix Event

The sell-out D1 Grand Prix USA, held August 31, 2003, shattered all attendance records at Irwindale Speedway and firmly established drifting as the hottest new motorsport in the U.S. The previous track attendance record of 8,700 was easily surpassed as approximately 10,000 spectators witnessed the first ever U.S. D1 Grand Prix competition. Not only was this the largest event ever hosted at Irwindale, it was the largest event to date, in terms of spectator attendance, in the history of drifting in both the U.S. and Japan.-

that is from a magazine/press release

Think of the market you chould reach if you were stunting a show like this.

Dude drifting has been big in ****ing Japan for the last 3-4 years its the latest crazy coming in. Other than dragging, If you ask alot of ppl about a popular cars or **** like that everyone will be like hell yeah I want it, now if it was the lastest/fastest bike they'll be like "HELL ****ING NO are you crazy" becuase they see all them reckless **** doing **** they have no business doing at that time. So thats why cars get alot of respect over bikes also they survival rate compair to them too. Even tho the survival rate from bikes to cars favior bikes most ppl this other wise.

They race drift. Basically they have 2 to 4 drivers at a time race around a track while drifting, from the videos I have seen. go to drifting.com they have videos of the last event in there message board area. The sport has been big in Asia for years like Magic_cow said. They even have a drifting cartoon out over there. lol

Re: How to help the stunting BLOW UP!!!

I think the groups that are into drifting cars and stunting bikes are somewhat similar because they are both successfully doing something crazy with a vehicle it really wasn't intended to do....
spectators would probably go crazy when a show is combined.

Re: How to help the stunting BLOW UP!!!

I've known about drifting since 2000 and it was already big in Asia, I love watching it http://groundzeroair.com.au/movies/driftxtreme.mpg

and I do think that a mix between a stunt show and a drifting show would be some crazy **** to attend, even tho the cars drifting would always be the main event
