Re: my rear brake set-up...

ok. back to the topic...... i havent got to use it yet so i dont know how well its gonna work. i saw another bike with the same set up at lakeland. thats what gave me the idea to do it. dude said it works really good. i see your point about two calipers on the same rotor, but the rotor is not what goes into fatigue, its the lines and master cyl., so if you have two, they work half as hard for the same purpose. i also drilled the stock holes two sizes bigger with a uni-bit. it wouold be good for a hand brake but i havent got that far on the whole seperate mastercyl. set-up and how to mount the new lever. so for time being, its gonna be a dual rear footbrake.

Re: my rear brake set-up...

Dave, you might need to upgrade the master cylinder for this to work. I dont think the stock one will push enough fluid to run 2 calipers.

for the hand brake run a second line from that top caliper to the clutch side handelbar and mount a 900 rr front brake..yes it will be upside down but if you remount the resivoir right side up with a longer hose from the lever to the resivoir it works. just make sure you bleed it good or it will fail on you when your up and you will poke your eye out.

A master cylinder with a bigger bore. But I really still don't see the point in this.

Me either, my back brake on my 1000 is off of a 600(same thing just uses different pads) is so touchy it's hard to be smooth with it.

yep, haven't got mine 100% figured out yet but I will soon. Just mount it on your clutch cable and let it flop or maybe the fairing stay if there is enough clearance.
