What does everyone think about 954's.. I might be picking one up this week, I have been riding a Gixxer 1000 since it came out so i was just wondering what people think about 954, well pretty much the good and bad...

Re: Cbr 954

I haven't spent too much time on them, but from what I've seen they're pretty nice.. little bit shorter wheelbase than the 954..

I wanna get one

Is the fuel injection smoother than the 929 or the same.

Re: Cbr 954

I like mine a lot. Its real smooth and has really good brakes. The front is end is kinda light, thats my only complaint.

I personally think that honda sacrificed duribility for weight in this case. By trying so hard to make the bike light they made it janky. Obviously, stunting is going to beat any bike into the ground, but id rather ride the old 900rr's that my 954. I have an 02 and it was in pieces w/o ever even being on the ground once. Just from setting wheelies down the whole headlight assembly snapped comletely off and was just hanging. They dont make fairing stays for 954's so anytime you do anything in the highchair position your whole front end takes it hard. It will fall apart in no time. Also, i saw they fixed this problem in the 03 models, but the bracket connecting the exhaust to the footpeg on the 02's will snap from setting stoppies down. I broke two of them before i finally bolted a 929 can on. My old 98rr was built like a brick sh-thouse compared to my 954. Sure theres not as much power but it wont stop you from doing any tricks.
