Hello everyone I have a 1999 gsxr 600 what is your opinion on cages yeah or no. I am really thinking about it I figure drop it pick it up damage wont be as bad thank god right now I can catch it good or find a nice yard. not as bad as no cage but would apperciate some input. I was thinking about about a powersports cage. thanks for your help..

Hello, first freestyle ingenunity has no cage for a 99 gsxr 600 I have e-mailed them a few times they never got back with me and I was left with a bad taste no bad rap meant I am thinking of going with the powerworks cage used by people like tood colbert but was just looking for some input.

i had a 99 gsxr. You dont need a cage for thoes. All you need is plain ol framesliders and a NRC case cover for the left side. After i did that i slamed my shiit a bunch of times and NO damage. The way the frame is on thoes bike, it wraped around the motor good. Just get that stuff and your set.

 

So far this is true, I dropped mine twice on the left side(not to hard)only thing that got broke was the driver rear set. I also had a normal size frame slider. So if you go with this advice and just get sliders, talk to CBRorange on this board(VerticalMischiefCrew) they have extended sliders for like 40-45 bucks. If I dont get the money for a cage soon, I'll be rocking some of these for now.

If money is tight, these are the next best step you could use. I also think Mikey from Contral Coaliton rocked the F.I. extended sliders on his 98or99 GSXR. But for the price of the VMC sliders, you cant go wrong...

 

FI has the SRAD cage in the works.

 

Very True I dropped my old 99 GSXR and just regular sliders saved it with no damage other a tiny scuff on the left case cover. And that was with normal length sliders.

 

So if frame sliders work great on the bikes wouldnt a cage be even better

but i have a CBR900RR 1996 model and wanted to know if frame sliders or a cage would be best, i just cant see what a cage does over the frame sliders besides protect the paint on ya fairings,

someone PLEASE EXPLAIN

 

also how much would a cage set me back???????
